October 7, 2018 -Directors Notes-
Broken Arrow Invitational - THANK YOU! The volunteer efforts of our parents and students are truly what made this event so successful, despite all of the weather delays. The overwhelming feedback that we have received from the competing band directors has shown their excitement for how professional the event is run and how kind and friendly our parent and student volunteers are to our visitors. That is FANTASTIC! This year’s BAI tested us as an organization to be quick on our feet, serve our guests and keeping everyone safe with the severe weather in the area. We are thankful for everyone’s efforts to continually make adjustments throughout the day with all of the weather issues. Thank you to all that were involved in producing this first class event.
Next Band Parent Meeting - October 9 The next meeting of the Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on October 9 in the BAHS Band Hall.
Upcoming HS Wind Band Concert - October 15 The Wind bands at BAHS will present their first band concert of the school year on Monday, October 15. This concert is free to the public and will be held at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00pm.
OBA Finals Reserved Tickets Ticket Requests may be placed in the HS Band Office with Mrs. Good for OBA Finals Tickets. The BA Band will be able to secure a limited number of tickets in the "BA Sectionâ€. Tickets are $15 each and will assigned on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may also be purchased at the stadium on contest day, but can't be guaranteed to be placed in the "BA Section." Place ticket orders with Mrs. Good at the HS Band Office. Pride Account Payments It is important that all Student accounts are current to remain in good standing. At this point all members should have either paid or fundraised at total of $1800 toward their accounts. With a remaining balance of $650. The Color Guard additional fee is $200. Please check the status of your student account and make sure you are up to date with your account payments. Pride members will be allowed to sign up for their reserved seat on the charter buses, provided their accounts are paid.
Pep Band this Friday to Edmond Santa Fe The entire Pride Horn line and Battery percussion will travel as a pep band to support our Football Tigers are this week’s game in Edmond. Dinner will be provided for the students that will be attending this game on Friday. The Color Guard and Front Ensemble percussionists will remain in BA on Friday. The pep band will wear jeans and Black Pride/Tradition T shirts for this game.

Tradition of Broken Arrow The Tradition of Broken Arrow is comprised of all Freshman and Sophomore band members AND the Pride of Broken Arrow members. The following is a list of upcoming dates and performances for the Tradition of Broken Arrow.

Closed and Open Rehearsals As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically.

SPECIAL EVENTS We would like to extend a huge “thank you†to everyone who contributed to the success of this year’s Broken Arrow Invitational. While the weather may have altered some of the day’s events, it didn’t seem to diminish the great attitudes of our wonderful volunteers! Once again we heard from many parents and directors how much they appreciate our hospitality (and flexibility) this year!

If you haven't done so yet, please consider serving during OBA coming up in a mere two weeks. If you have worked at a band contest before, let us know if you prefer the same job again, or you would prefer to try something else. This is a great way to connect with oter bad parents and be involved in something important to your student.

CONCESSIONS
THANK YOU to all the concession volunteers who volunteered stocking on Thursday, volunteered Friday’s Homecoming game and Concessions for BAI!!! You all did a fantastic job!! We appreciate all of you!
The next concession event will be for OBA!!
We have several JV, 9th, and 8th grade games coming up starting October 15th. Sign up below!
October 15th we need freshman parent volunteers at BAFA concessions. This is the band concert for the high school bands. We would love to give the high school parents a chance to go the concert.
OCTOBER 20th is OBA - We need 35-70 people, volunteers for concessions the option will be to sign up for shift work. (we close down for BA's performance) CLICK HERE

CHRISTMAS WREATHS FUNDRAISER - It’s that time of year again! Our October fundraiser, beginning October 9 at the band parent meeting and ending Tuesday, October 23, will be our popular live Christmas wreaths. This fundraiser includes wreaths, sprays, table top centerpieces, and garland. In addition, your customers can purchase holiday gifts that can be sent directly from the company to others. Because of the timing necessary to place this order, absolutely no late orders can be accepted after October 23, so plan accordingly and be sure to get your orders in before school closes that day.
CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be the October 9 band parent meeting. Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings. Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. A BIG THANK YOU to all who volunteered in the Pride Store at BAI. It was some crazy Oklahoma weather, for sure. Thanks to all who spent hours drying out T-shirts and products at home, too! And a big thanks to all who stopped by to purchase items and support the Pride of BA!
IMPORTANT: 2018 SHOW SHIRTS and BUTTONS FOR PRIDE MEMBERS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED THIS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 11 AT 9PM AFTER PRACTICE AT SOUTH END OF STADIUM!! Students can stop by on their way out of practice to pick up their show shirt and button. Remember that one show shirt and one button are distributed to the kids as part of their membership in the Pride of BA. Please have your student stop by on Thursday!!
(Please note that any pre-ordered shirts and buttons ordered through the Pride Store will be ready for pick-up on Saturday, October 13. These will be distributed separately from the kids’ shirt/button.)
