September 30, 2018 -Directors Notes-
The Broken Arrow Invitational is THIS Week! Join us for the Broken Arrow Marching Band Invitational at Tiger Field on October 6. Witness some of the nation's finest marching band programs as bands representing Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Missouri compete in the 2018 BAI. The Pride of Broken Arrow will perform in exhibition following the finals competition at 10:00pm. We hope to see you next Saturday! Most volunteer positions are filled for the BAI, however, please sign up if you could fill the remaining volunteer positions.
BA Homecoming Parade on Tuesday All Pride members will report to the BA First United Methodist Church at College & Main Street by 4:30 for the Homecoming Parade. Pride members arrive in Full Uniform and with the equipment by 4:30 (school transportation is NOT provided for this event). The Parade will begin on Main Street at 5:00pm and (tentatively) move SOUTH on Main Street and end at the BA PAC. The Pride WILL Rehearse beginning at 6:00pm in the stadium. Please plan for a quick return trip to the HS following the Pride’s performance in the Homecoming Parade. The Pride will complete the parade route at the BAPAC by approximately 5:10pm.
Next Band Parent Meeting - October 9 The next meeting of the Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on October 9 in the BAHS Band Hall.
Upcoming HS Wind Band Concert - October 15 The Wind bands at BAHS will present their first band concert of the school year on Monday, October 15. This concert is free to the public and will be held at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center beginning at 7:00pm.
OBA Finals Reserved Tickets Ticket Requests may be placed in the HS Band Office with Mrs. Good for OBA Finals Tickets. The BA Band will be able to secure a limited number of tickets in the "BA Sectionâ€. Tickets are $15 each and will assigned on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may also be purchased at the stadium on contest day, but can't be guaranteed to be placed in the "BA Section." Place ticket orders with Mrs. Good at the HS Band Office. Pride Account Payments It is important that all Student accounts are current to remain in good standing. At this point all members should have either paid or fundraised at total of $1800 toward their accounts. With a remaining balance of $650. The Color Guard additional fee is $200. Please check the status of your student account and make sure you are up to date with your account payments. Pride members will be allowed to sign up for their reserved seat on the charter buses, provided their accounts are paid.

Tradition of Broken Arrow The Tradition of Broken Arrow is comprised of all Freshman and Sophomore band members AND the Pride of Broken Arrow members. The following is a list of upcoming dates and performances for the Tradition of Broken Arrow. FYI - There will be NO Tradition at the HS Football Game this week. The First Full Tradition and Pride game will be on September 21 vs. Jenks. Info regarding Tradition Fees for Uniform Parts and fees will be sent home in a handout with students this week.

Closed and Open Rehearsals As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically.

FUNCTIONS
Octoberpalooza is here!! Calling all 50,000 volunteers. Uniforms are here and we need all hands on deck to rip, sew, measure, pin. The schedule for meeting in band hall to work this week is: Monday, 5:00; Tuesday, immediately after hoco parade, Wednesday, off; Thursday, TBD based on dance. Watch Facebook and remind messages for updates. Bring pins, scissors, seam gauges, white thread and a volunteer spirit. It is all for our kids!

CONCESSIONS
Thank you to everyone who has been signing up and volunteering to work concessions.
Upcoming game date we need volunteers... Thursday, October 4th we will be stocking for both the football game and BAI We will start around 5:30. There is also a football game at BAFA.
Friday, October 5th is homecoming. We need 40 more people for concessions.
Friday night after the game, we will need help with preparing for BAI. If you are available after the game to help restock the concessions and count inventory please stop by the concessions after the game.
October BAFA games we need volunteers for the following dates; October 4th, 15th, 16th, 22nd, and 25th. Sign up through the google form.
OCTOBER 20th is OBA - We need 35-70 people, volunteers for concessions the option will be to sign up for shift work. (we close down for BA's performance) CLICK HERE

CHRISTMAS WREATHS FUNDRAISER - It’s that time of year again! Our October fundraiser, beginning October 9 at the band parent meeting and ending Tuesday, October 23, will be our popular live Christmas wreaths. This fundraiser includes wreaths, sprays, table top centerpieces, and garland. In addition, your customers can purchase holiday gifts that can be sent directly from the company to others. Because of the timing necessary to place this order, absolutely no late orders can be accepted after October 23, so plan accordingly and be sure to get your orders in before school closes that day.
CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be the October 9 band parent meeting. Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings. Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront.
