Volunteers Make the BA Bands Work! Thank you to all of the volunteers that worked tirelessly to help advance the success of our amazing Band Students and the entire band program! It’s amazing to see the many volunteers that it takes to help our kids: Concessions, Uniform Sizings and Alterations, Washing and returning uniforms, feeding frenzy, chaperones, building props, moving equipment, equipment repairs, organizing the new Pride water jugs, securing sponsorships, organizing the upcoming Pride Golf Tournament, preparing for the upcoming BAI, operating the Pride Store, Fundraising, advancing our BA Bands and BA Pride brand through Communications outlets, and on and on and on…. Find a Way to GET INVOLVED NOW!! TRY SOMETHING; YOU’LL LIKE IT!!
A request for our ‘Washer Parents’: please return uniforms either before school or after the school class schedule. Also, be sure to return the cleaned uniforms to the Uniform Room. We just aren’t equipped to drop off cleaned uniforms in the School’s Main Office or in the Band Office.
Band Parent Meeting and Scott Lang - Guest Speaker THIS WEEK! The next band parent meeting will be held this Tuesday (9/11) in the BAHS Band Hall at 7:00pm. This month’s meeting will feature information about upcoming events AND feature a special guest speaker, Mr. Scott Lang. Scott is an incredible friend of the Broken Arrow Bands and will be conducting s special leadership workshop with all of the Pride members on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Lang has graciously agreed to share a special session during our band parent meeting specifically for our Broken Arrow Band Parents! We’ll see you at this very special band parent meeting of Tuesday night!
Pride and Concert Band Instrument User Fees PAST DUE All User Fees are Past Due
All State / All District Band Audition Entry This week we will be signing up students that will audition for the All District and All State Bands. Entry fee is $25 per student and will be collected by Dr. Pence in the band office. Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1 students are required to participate based on the course syllabus requirements and their entry is covered by their band fee for the course (for a single instrument entry). The first round audition for All State is on Saturday, November 3 at BAHS. All other High School band students are encouraged to audition. Note: Freshman students don’t enter until November at the Freshman Academy.
OBA Finals Reserved Tickets Ticket Requests may be placed in the HS Band Office with Mrs. Good for OBA Finals Tickets. The BA Band will be able to secure a limited number of tickets in the "BA Sectionâ€. Tickets are $15 each and will assigned on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may also be purchased at the stadium on contest day, but can't be guaranteed to be placed in the "BA Section." Place ticket orders with Mrs. Good at the HS Band Office. Tickets will be delivered once we receive them from OBA (typically the week prior to the contest). Tickets will be delivered once we receive them from OBA (typically the week prior to the contest).
Combined Pride & Tradition Rehearsal (9/17) The Pride and Tradition will hold their combined rehearsal to learn the PreGame show on Monday, September 17 from 6:00-8:30 at BA’s Memorial Stadium (if rain, we will meet in the adjacent Indoor Turf Facility). This will set up the Pride and Tradition to perform the PreGame show at the final 3 Varsity Home Games on Sept 21 (Jenks), Oct 5 (Westmoore) and Nov 1 (Enid). NOTE: The Nov1 does occur on a Thursday and is a required performance for ALL Tradition and Pride members!
Pride Account Payments It is important that all Student accounts are current to remain in good standing. At this point all members should have either paid or fundraised at total of $1400 toward their accounts. With a remaining balance of $1050. The Color Guard additional fee is $200. Please check the status of your student account and make sure you are up to date with your account payments.

Tradition of Broken Arrow The Tradition of Broken Arrow is comprised of all Freshman and Sophomore band members AND the Pride of Broken Arrow members. The following is a list of upcoming dates and performances for the Tradition of Broken Arrow. FYI - There will be NO Tradition at the HS Football Game this week. The First Full Tradition and Pride game will be on September 21 vs. Jenks. Info regarding Tradition Fees for Uniform Parts and fees will be sent home in a handout with students this week.

Closed and Open Rehearsals As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically.

Volunteers are needed to help plan Senior Night. ALL sophomore and junior parents are responsible for hosting senior night -because in a very short time - it will be your turn!! We are looking for a few key sophomore and junior parents that would like to be part of the initial planning for this. If you are interested in helping with this, please send an email to bafunctions@gmail.com.
Special Diets. If your student has a special diet that should be considered during feedings this season, please let us know by registering that information through this LINK .
For special diets, please have your student find us behind the serving lines in the cafeteria with special diet meals.
Please remember that no outside food or drink should be brought to students.

CONCESSIONS
Upcoming game date we need volunteers... Our next home game will be on Sept 21st and we still need volunteers for this game. This game will be a big game against Jenks.
There are multiple JV and 8th/9th grade games coming up in September. We still need more volunteers.

AMISH BAKERY FUNDRAISER - This fundraiser begins on Tuesday evening at the September band parent meeting and ends on Tuesday, September 25. After the meeting, any extra order forms will be left in the BAHS band office reception area as well as posted in the files section of the band’s Members and Supporters Facebook group by Wednesday evening.
CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be at the September band parent meeting. Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings. Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. ::::::: PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT UPDATE::::::: - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, if you are not receiving our fundraising emails already and you participate in fundraising at all, you need to be added to that email list because that is the best way to receive current news about fundraisers; please ask to be added to that email list if you are not already on it. Finally, be sure to join the Broken Arrow Bands Members and Supporters Group on Facebook. We will upload fundraiser order forms and guidelines to the files section there each month once they begin.

PRIDE LETTER JACKETS - ORDER NOW! The Pride Store does not take orders for Pride Letter Jackets. Starting now, you may go directly to Yvonne's Monograms & Embroidery and order during their operating hours of M-F 7AM-4PM! You can stop by to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Please bring your student with you to order so they can try on samples to get the correct size. ***Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.*** *If you want your jacket before BOA in St Louis or State Championship OBA (both in October), please order before August 31! *Pride Jackets are $235.27 and require a $50 deposit when ordering.
