Volunteers Make the BA Bands Work!
Thank you to all of the volunteers that worked tirelessly to help advance the success of our amazing Band Students and the entire band program! Just in the past 7 days, it’s amazing to see the many volunteers that it takes to help our kids: Concessions, Uniform Sizings and Alterations, Washing and returning uniforms, feeding frenzy, chaperones, building props, moving equipment, equipment repairs, organizing the new Pride water jugs, securing sponsorships, organizing the upcoming Pride Golf Tournament, preparing for the upcoming BAI, operating the Pride Store, Fundraising, advancing our BA Bands and BA Pride brand through Communications outlets, and on and on and on…. Find a Way to GET INVOLVED NOW!! TRY SOMETHING; YOU’LL LIKE IT!!


A request for our ‘Washer Parents’: please return uniforms either before school or after the school class schedule. Also, be sure to return the cleaned uniforms to the Uniform Room. We just aren’t equipped to drop off cleaned uniforms in the School’s Main Office or in the Band Office.


School Transportation for School Activities
It is the policy of the school that all students travel to and from school activities via school provided transportation. Therefore, students may not ride to a school event with their parents and meet the band at the travel site. Nor, may students be released to parents to travel home in a personal vehicle instead of returning to BAHS on the provided school transportation. While this may not be the most convenient method of picking up your child from a school event, it does maintain consistency, safety and accountability for each band member on a school trip.


Pride and Concert Band Instrument User Fees due September 7
All Pride members that play a school owned instrument must submit their $35 Instrument User Fee no later than this Friday.

Tradition of Broken Arrow
The Tradition of Broken Arrow is comprised of all Freshman and Sophomore band members AND the Pride of Broken Arrow members. The following is a list of upcoming dates and performances for the Tradition of Broken Arrow. FYI - There will be NO Tradition at the HS Football Game this week. The First Full Tradition and Pride game will be on September 21 vs. Jenks. Info regarding Tradition Fees for Uniform Parts and fees will be sent home in a handout with students this week.

Closed and Open Rehearsals
As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically.

FUNCTIONS
A big thank you to Los Cabos for feeding our kids this week. If you find yourself needing a night out, drop by Los Cabos and find a manager and tell them thank you for feeding your kids this week!!

Thank you to all of those that have volunteered for Feeding Frenzy this season. Please know this is one of the more desired areas to work, and we would ask that you please choose at least one night to work in concessions as this benefits all areas of BA Bands!!! See concessions notes below!

Special Diets. If your student has a special diet that should be considered during feedings this season, please let us know by registering that information through this LINK .

For special diets, please have your student find us behind the serving lines in the cafeteria with special diet meals.

Please remember that no outside food or drink should be brought to students.

CONCESSIONS

Thank you to all the volunteers who worked in the concession Friday night!  We had a lot of new faces.  Everyone did an awesome job!


Upcoming game date we need volunteers...
Our next home game will be on Sept 21st and we still need volunteers for this game.  This game will be a big game against Jenks.

There are multiple JV and 8th/9th grade games coming up in September.  We still need more volunteers. 

OCTOBER 6th is BAI - we need 20 volunteers for concessions.  (we close down for BA's performance) CLICK HERE

GOLF TOURNAMENT
DEADLINE:  We are quickly approaching the deadline for the teams for the golf tournament ! Remember each family that has a team put together, will get $50.00 in that child’s trip account ! We have extended the date to September 10th ! Get you team together and have some fun !

September 23, 2018 is the date for the Third Annual Pride of Broken Arrow Golf Tournament! Battlecreek Golf will be the site once again. We will have registration and sponsorship forms in a few day! Once again we are opening this up for families to have $50.00 added to your child’s trip account! You get a team put together ( 4 individuals at $100 each person) and $50.00 will be added to your account.

CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be at the September band parent meeting.  Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings.  Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. ::::::: PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT UPDATE::::::: - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, if you are not receiving our fundraising emails already and you participate in fundraising at all, you need to be added to that email list because that is the best way to receive current news about fundraisers; please ask to be added to that email list if you are not already on it.  Finally, be sure to join the Broken Arrow Bands Members and Supporters Group on Facebook.  We will upload fundraiser order forms and guidelines to the files section there each month once they begin.

PRIDE WORK - Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account - There are so many ways to earn money for your band trip account! Start earning money now for the 2018 marching season.

Many of these opportunities go quickly. The work sign-ups are sent via email to those on the Pride Work email list. Please ask to get on the Pride Work email list by writing to bapridework@gmail.com.

You can stop by to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Please bring your student with you to order so they can try on samples to get the correct size.
***Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.***
*If you want your jacket before BOA in St Louis or State Championship OBA (both in October), please order before August 31!
*Pride Jackets are $235.27 and require a $50 deposit when ordering. Balance is due when jacket is picked up.
*The price includes the jacket with graduation year on sleeve, BA Pride logo on back, student name and instrument embroidered on right chest, and a "letter" sewn on after your student receives it from their Director.
