August 26, 2018 -Directors Notes-
Mansfield Texas Football Game UNIFORM All Pride will wear their complete Full Uniform for this week's game.
FULL Pride Uniform includes:
- Members do not take their uniforms home. Parent volunteers maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the uniforms.
- The ONLY T-shirt that may be worn underneath the uniform is the Black Member Pride / Tradition T shirt. Extras may be purchased for $10 each from the Uniform Parent Volunteers
- "Sliders" must be worn under the uniform (For this week White or Black is acceptable). These are athletic leggings and may be purchased at most any sporting good store.
- Full Length ALL Black socks must be worn with the uniform
- No jewelry while in uniform. This includes wrist bands, bracelets, necklaces, piercings, etc. (a small stud ear ring stud is the only acceptable jewelry)
- Gentlemen must have haircuts above the collar line and no facial hair
- Ladies with long hair must be able to put their hair "up" in a "performance bun"
- Gloves (Horn Line only)These may be purchased for $5 per pair
Woodwinds must cut out the fingers on their gloves at the "first knuckle". Don't wait until the last minute to do this. BLACK on the Left hand and WHITE on the Right hand - All members will need to shine / polish their instruments before each performance
- Color Guard will wear their Practice Costume
Next Band Parent Meeting - September 11 The next meeting of Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on September 12 in the BAHS Band Hall.
Pride Account Payments It is important that all Student accounts are current to remain in good standing. At this point all members should have either paid or fundraised at total of $1400 toward their accounts. With a remaining balance of $1050. The Color Guard additional fee is $200. Please check the status of your student account and make sure you are up to date with your account payments.

Tradition of Broken Arrow The Tradition of Broken Arrow is comprised of all Freshman and Sophomore band members AND the Pride of Broken Arrow members. The following is a list of upcoming dates and performances for the Tradition of Broken Arrow. FYI - There will be NO Tradition at the HS Football Game this week. The First Full Tradition and Pride game will be on September 21 vs. Jenks. Info regarding Tradition Fees for Uniform Parts and fees will be sent home in a handout with students this week.
- Aug 27-30- 5:00-7:00- Uniform Fittings at BAHS Band Hall for all Tradition Only Students (Come to only 1 day of fittings - your choice)
- Sept 17- 6:00-8:30- Tradition Rehearsal at BAHS
- Sept 21- 6:00-10:30- Home Football Game - BA vs Jenks
- Oct 5- 6:00-10:30- Homecoming Football Game - BA vs Westmoore
- Nov 1- 6:00-10:30- Home Football Game - BA vs. Enid (NOTE: This is a THURSDAY game)
- Nov 28-30- 3:30-5:30- Christmas Parade Rehearsals at BAHS
- Dec 1- 9:00-11:00- BA Christmas Parade - Main Street

Closed and Open Rehearsals As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically.

FUNCTIONS A big thank you to Santa Fe Cattle Company for feeding our kids this week. If you need a meal this week, go by there and get something and thank the managers (Tony or Rosie)!
New water jugs will be checked out to students this week. They are a new style that come in a sling jug koozie, so students can carry them over their shoulder. The jugs will need to be washed by hand prior to using for this week’s game.
Special Diets. If your student has a special diet that should be considered during feedings this season, please let us know by registering that information through this LINK .
For special diets, please have your student find us behind the serving lines in the cafeteria with special diet meals.
Please remember that no outside food or drink should be brought to students.
Also for Friday night, hornline and percussion will need sliders, socks, gloves, shoes, and tradition shirts. Guard will need black spanx, performance under garments and makeup. These items are the responsibility of the student and not provided by the school.

- August 30th @ the Freshman Academy we need 3 more volunteers

GOLF TOURNAMENT September 23, 2018 is the date for the Third Annual Pride of Broken Arrow Golf Tournament! Battlecreek Golf will be the site once again. We will have registration and sponsorship forms in a few day! Once again we are opening this up for families to have $50.00 added to your child’s trip account! You get a team put together ( 4 individuals at $100 each person) and $50.00 will be added to your account.

DISCOUNT CARDS - The due date for the discount cards and money to be turned in has passed; discount cards are now PAST DUE. Any cards or money that were not been returned as of Friday August 17 (2 weeks past the deadline) will have student accounts charged the band portion per the agreement that was signed when the cards were checked out; the charges will remain even if the cards or money are turned in after August 17.
CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be at the September band parent meeting. Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings. Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. PRIDE LETTER JACKETS - ORDER NOW! (Order before 8/31 to have in time for competitions in October!) The Pride Store does not take orders for Pride Letter Jackets. Starting now, you may go directly to Yvonne's Monograms & Embroidery and order during their operating hours of M-F 7AM-4PM! You can stop by to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Please bring your student with you to order so they can try on samples to get the correct size. ***Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.*** *If you want your jacket before BOA in St Louis or State Championship OBA (both in October), please order before August 31! *Pride Jackets are $235.27 and require a $50 deposit when ordering.
