Band Parent Meeting and Open Rehearsal on Tuesday
The next Band Parent Meeting is THIS Tuesday at 7:00pm in the HS Band Hall. Also, Pride rehearsal will be open to family and friends from 8:30-9:00 following the completion of the band parent meeting.


Classes Begin Thursday!
The Pride has had an amazing Band Camp and we are extremely proud of the hard work displayed by the Pride. Classes begin on Thursday and the staff wants to wish a great first day to our members.

Dr. Tim Lautzenhaiser Leadership Workshop
Once again, Leadership expert, Dr. Tim will return to BA to conduct a regional leadership workshop for leaders across the region. All members of the Pride Leadership Team (to be announced this week) are required to attend. Due to popular demand, ANY Pride Member who wishes take part in this exceptional workshop is eligible to attend. The Workshop is this Friday from 3:30-7:30 at the BAHS Band Hall. Registration fees are $30.


Closed and Open Rehearsals
As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically. The first open rehearsal will take place this week on Tuesday (subject to change) during the final 30 minutes of rehearsal. More details as next week’s schedule is finalized.

FUNCTIONS
Volunteer emails will be going out soon for feeding frenzy and uniform washing, etc. Please be patient.

Almost there! We are closing in on uniform alteration completion. We now need irons, ironing boards, towel/rags for pressing cloths and people to use them! Meet in the band room area at 5 p.m. Monday evening.

Special Diets. If your student has a special diet that should be considered during feedings this season, please let us know by registering that information through this LINK .

OPERATIONS
OPS WORK NIGHT: Tomorrow, Monday 8/13, at Greg Dixon’s shop. 5PM or when you can. Supplies are in for more frequent and longer work nights as we get into the season. We’ll be hauling “done” props to the stadium and welding, fitting, grinding, and painting others. We had a great turnout for our last work night...let’s keep the momentum rolling!

BA FAMILY DRUG - BUMMER PICK-UP HAPPENING NOW!
BA Family Drug will once again support the Pride by offering bummers to those rookie and other band students who need one. FYI to rookie parents, the kids wear these bummers in band camp while learning drill. BA Family Drug North and South Locations.

NEW! BUFFALO WILD WINGS DINE OUT NIGHT - MONDAY, AUGUST 20 - 5 TO 9PM
This fundraising event will be Monday, August 20 from 5-9PM at Buffalo Wild Wings at 1151 North 20th Street in Broken Arrow Hills location. The Pride of BA will receive 10% of proceeds! You must have your the flyer on your phone or printed out to show the cashier or your server. CLICK HERE for flyer!

SONIC CARDS FUNDRAISER - Sonic cards are all gone.


DISCOUNT CARDS - The due date for the discount cards and money to be turned in has passed; discount cards are now PAST DUE. Any that have not yet been returned must be returned ASAP. (Remember, separated cards may not be returned.) Any cards or money not returned by the Tuesday, August 14 band parent meeting will have student accounts charged per the agreement that was signed when the cards were checked out; the charges will remain even if the cards or money are turned in after that date.  They can be turned in to Mrs. Good in the band office or to Debbie with Fundraising. 


CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - The next opportunity to purchase chocolate will be at the August band parent meeting on Tuesday.  Note: Chocolate is ONLY sold during scheduled fundraiser pickup dates/times and band parent meetings.  Cash/checks for payment only please. Important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. FALL FLOWERS FUNDRAISER - Our August fundraiser will be fall flowers. It will include a variety of colors of mums and pansies. This fundraiser begins at the band parent meeting on August 14.

PHONE CORD FUNDRAISER - Another August fundraiser will be Cords of Steel phone cords. There are options depending on the phone. These are flexible stainless steel cords with alloy charging heads; they plug into your phone at a right angle rather than coming straight out. They come with a lifetime warranty, and come in a variety of colors. These cords are amazing! This fundraiser begins at the band parent meeting on August 14, and we will have a sample cord there.

::::::: PLEASE READ ::::::: - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, if you are not receiving our fundraising emails already and you participate in fundraising at all, you need to be added to that email list because that is the best way to receive current news about fundraisers; please ask to be added to that email list if you are not already on it.


LEGENDS CAR WASH FUNDRAISER - CODE 1219 IS GOOD YEAR ROUND!
Need a car wash? Each time the code 1219 is entered, the BA Bands program gets 20% of the sale at Legends Car Wash at Kenosha and Aspen (2300 W. Kenosha). PRIDE WORK - Earn Money For Your Band Trip Account - There are so many ways to earn money for your band trip account! Start earning money now for the 2018 marching season.

Many of these opportunities go quickly. The work sign-ups are sent via email to those on the Pride Work email list. Please ask to get on the Pride Work email list by writing to bapridework@gmail.com.

You can stop by to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Please bring your student with you to order so they can try on samples to get the correct size.
***Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.***
*If you want your jacket before BOA in St Louis or State Championship OBA (both in October), please order before August 31!
*Pride Jackets are $235.27 and require a $50 deposit when ordering. Balance is due when jacket is picked up.
*The price includes the jacket with graduation year on sleeve, BA Pride logo on back, student name and instrument embroidered on right chest, and a "letter" sewn on after your student receives it from their Director.
