St. Louis BOA Super Regional Champions!
Congratulations to the Pride for their outstanding performances at the BOA Super Regional in St. Louis! The Pride finished in first place, and was named the SUPER REGIONAL CHAMPION in the finals competition. In the Finals competition, the Pride also earned awards for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect award. The Pride also did extremely well in the preliminary competition by winning the Class AAAA Championship, Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect Awards. Please take a moment to congratulate a Pride member for the amazing efforts this season and continue to encourage them in their quest for performance excellence.

The staff and I could not be more proud of the students for their discipline, behavior, performances and "First Class" attitude. You made us all VERY proud. Next stop is the OSSAA Contest on Wednesday in Tahlequah and the OBA State Marching Band Championships this Saturday at BA’s Memorial Stadium with the Pride’s preliminary performance at 3:15pm. OBA Finals begin at 7:00pm.


2 Competitions this Week
The Broken Arrow Pride will participate in 2 competitions next week. The OSSAA Regional Marching Contest will be hosted on Wednesday at NSU’s Stadium in Tahlequah and will feature bands in class 5A & 6A. Broken Arrow performs last at 3:15pm and admission is free to this event. The OBA Marching Championship will be hosted at Broken Arrow's Memorial Stadium on Saturday, October 29. Broken Arrow performs at 3:15pm. See the schedule below for the Pride schedule for Wednesday


Sounds of the Stadium - Pride PAC Concert
Join us in for a truly unique experience — Sounds of the Stadium on Nov. 16 at 7:00pm! This concert will feature the full Pride of Broken Arrow performing all your favorites that they perform at football games, only this time in the confines of the The Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center! It’s going to be loud and it’s going to be a blast! Ticket information will be available soon.


All District and All State Auditions NEXT Saturday at BAHS
10th - 12th Grade Students that are auditioning for these Honor Bands will audition at BAHS on Saturday, November 4. Detailed itineraries will be distributed to students in their band classes.


2018 Broken Arrow Indoor Percussion Information
There will be an informational meeting for all students and parents interested in 2018 Broken Arrow Indoor Percussion on Monday, October 23rd from 6:30-7:00 PM in the Band Hall. All members of the Pride are eligible for membership in the Drumline, Front Ensemble and the Visual Ensemble. Information about auditions, rehearsal, performance, and trip schedule as well as a sneak peak to the 2018 program and show title will be addressed at this meeting.

Photos - All Pride family and friends are free to post and publish photos from rehearsal and performances to Social Media.

Video - Due to copyright liabilities, Videos of the Pride’s show “Age of Discovery: The Return to Xeno” may not be posted to social media or public outlets.


Next SPECIAL Band Parent Meeting - October 30
The next meeting of the Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on Monday, October 30 in the BAHS Band Hall. NOTE: This is a special Band Parent Meeting to discuss preparations and details for the Send Off Dress Rehearsal and the Indianapolis trip to BOA Grand Nationals.


OBA Finals Reserved Tickets
Ticket Requests may be placed in the HS Band Office with Mrs. Good for OBA Finals Tickets. The BA Band will be able to secure a limited number of tickets in the "BA Section”. Tickets are $15 each and will assigned on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may also be purchased at the stadium on contest day, but can't be guaranteed to be placed in the "BA Section." Place ticket orders with Mrs. Good at the HS Band Office. Tickets will be delivered once we receive them from OBA (typically the week prior to the contest). NOTE: Previous eNews editions have advertised the ticket price at $10, however, OBA has made a price increase to $15. If you have already placed your OBA ticket order, we must receive the ticket price increase in order to pick up your tickets. Tickets will be available for pick up on Thursday and Friday in the Band office OR at the end of Pride Rehearsal on Thursday Evening

Band Finance Office - Charms
Charms accounts are ready for all Pride members. Login is "brokenarrowband" and your password is your student's ID# (unless you have already changed it). Payments can be made via PayPal through Charms, PayPal charges a small service fee. Cash and Check payments can be made to the Fine Arts Finance Office during regular business hours, mailed to the school, or dropped into the payment box in the hallway near the orchestra room. Please BE SURE to note where you want your payment applied. Please take the time to update your personal information where it is lacking. This will keep us in touch with you. For more information on using Charms, see the attached sheet.

FUNCTIONS

OBA Volunteer Room. We will have another volunteer room for workers during OBA. Please sign up HERE to contribute.

All State/All District Auditions. We are in need of a few volunteers to help monitor rooms for Round 1 of All State/All District band auditions which will be held at BAHS on Saturday, November 4. You would be needed from approximately 8 am to mid afternoon. If you are able to assist, please send an email to bafunctions@gmail.com.

Uniform Help. Washer parents and those that can help sew, etc, please watch your remind updates closely over the next few weeks, as there will be many needs!!



SPECIAL EVENTS

OBA - Saturday, Oct., 28th - We still need volunteers for this event. This is an all day event so, we have multiple shifts available to work. We really need everyone to find away to help with at least one shift. If you have any questions regarding this event, please email us.  If you loved your job at BAI, sign up ASAP so we can put you there again.  Please use the link below to sign up. Thank you to everyone who volunteered in Concessions this season. We appreciate all of you!

There is a possibility we will be hosting a playoff game in November! More information on date and time coming soon.

We will be stocking concessions on Thursday in preparation for OBA on Saturday! We will start between 5:30-6:00!  Many hands make light work!

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

If you see any of these emails in your Junk or Spam folder, add the email address for those emails to your contact list. That should ensure you receive future emails correctly. DON’T FORGET!!! THIS TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24!! OCTOBER DINE OUT NIGHT - PANDA EXPRESS at 1314 E. Hillside Dr from 3-10PM. 20% of sales will go to band program. Participants must present a flyer (paper or on phone) on the day of our fundraiser to get credit for the band. BEEF JERKY STICKS - Jerky sticks are available by pre-order and pre-purchase through the band only; the turnaround time to get them is quick - usually about a week once we place an order (orders will be placed at the beginning of each month; the next order will be placed after October 30 band parent meeting). We can also email you an order form if you need one or CLICK HERE to print one. Please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com with questions. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you will pay ONLY the cost upfront, not the profit as well, due to the cost of the sticks. You will still be responsible for turning the profit into the band office for this fundraiser.

AMISH BAKERY FUNDRAISER PICKUP TUESDAY 4:30-7:30PM!- This fundraiser will be ready for pickup Tuesday from 4:30-7:3-PM in the band hall. PLEASE plan to pick up your fundraiser at this day/time!

CHOCOLATE AVAILABLE TO PICK UP ON TUESDAY! - Chocolate is arriving early this week. You may pick up chocolate this Tuesday, October 24 from 4:30-7:30PM in the band hall. Just look for the fundraising table(s). Also, important to remember - if you turn in money from selling chocolate, please mark it as a band payment so that it gets posted to Charms that way; you will have already paid the profit upfront. NEW!!! WREATH FUNDRAISER - PICK UP FORMS TUESDAY! - This fundraiser will begin this week. Orders MUST be turned in on or before November 2. This fundraiser has live wreaths, live sprays, and live centerpieces. Holiday gifts are an option with this fundraiser. These will arrive the beginning of December. Order forms will be given out Tuesday and extra forms left in the band office reception area afterward.

NEW!! SCENTED GARDEN CANDLE FUNDRAISER - PICK UP FORMS THIS TUESDAY! This fundraiser will also begin this week and go through November 2. These make great Christmas gifts! Order forms will be given out Tuesday and extra forms left in the band office reception area afterward.

SOAP FUNDRAISER - The soap fundraiser order forms and money are due Tuesday, October 24.  The orders will arrive sometime around the first of December since theses soaps are made fresh to order.  No late orders, please!
