Band Parent Meeting and Scott Lang - Guest Speaker - THIS WEEK!
The next band parent meeting will be held this Tuesday (9/12) in the BAHS Band Hall at 7:00pm. This month’s meeting will feature information about upcoming events AND feature a special guest speaker, Mr. Scott Lang. Scott is an incredible friend of the Broken Arrow Bands and will be conducting s special leadership workshop with all of the Pride members on Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Lang has graciously agreed to share a special session during our band parent meeting specifically for our Broken Arrow Band Parents! We’ll see you at this very special band parent meeting of Tuesday night!


Pride and Concert Band Instrument User Fees PAST DUE

All State / All District Band Audition Entry
This week we will be signing up students that will audition for the All District and All State Bands. Entry fee is $25 per student and will be collected by Dr. Pence in the band office. Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1 students are required to participate based on the course syllabus requirements. The first round audition for All State is on Saturday, November 4 at BAHS. All other High School band students are encouraged to audition. Note: Freshman students don’t enter until November at the Freshman Academy.


OBA Finals Reserved Tickets
Ticket Requests may be placed beginning Tuesday for OBA Finals Tickets. The BA Band will be able to secure a limited number of tickets in the "BA Section”. Tickets are $10 each and will assigned on a first come, first served basis. Tickets may also be purchased at the stadium on contest day, but can't be guaranteed to be placed in the "BA Section." Place ticket orders with Mrs. Good at the HS Band Office. Tickets will be delivered once we receive them from OBA (typically the week prior to the contest).

Combined Pride & Tradition Rehearsal (9/26)
The Pride and Tradition will hold their combined rehearsal to learn the PreGame show on Tuesday, September 26 from 6:00-8:30 at BA’s Memorial Stadium. This will set up the Pride and Tradition to perform the PreGame show at the final 3 Varsity Home Games on Sept 29 (Jenks), Oct 13 (Edmond SF) and Oct 19 (Norman). NOTE: The October 19 does occur during the Thursday of Fall Break and is a required performance for ALL Tradition and Pride members!

NOTE:  Upon completion of our travel expenses from Bands of America for the 2017 season, the all inclusive Pride fee for 2017 must be raised by $50.  It is important that all Student accounts are current to remain in good standing. At this point all members should have either paid or fundraised at total of $1350 toward their accounts. With a remaining balance of $1000. The 2017 Color Guard additional fee is $300. Please check the status of your student account and make sure you are up to date with your account payments.

Band Finance Office - Charms
Charms accounts are ready for all Pride members. Login is "brokenarrowband" and your password is your student's ID# (unless you have already changed it). Payments can be made via PayPal through Charms, PayPal charges a small service fee. Cash and Check payments can be made to the Fine Arts Finance Office during regular business hours, mailed to the school, or dropped into the payment box in the hallway near the orchestra room. Please BE SURE to note where you want your payment applied. Please take the time to update your personal information where it is lacking. This will keep us in touch with you. For more information on using Charms, see the attached sheet.

FUNCTIONS
Tradition Washer Parents Needed. We still need approximately 40 more washer parents for just tradition uniforms. These will only be laundered 3 or 4 times total. Pride parents can wash tradition uniforms. Please send an email to bauniform@gmail.com if you can help with this.

Junior and Sophomore Parents. There will be a meeting to discuss senior night plans in the band room at 7:15 p.m. on September 28th. We will be finished in time to watch rehearsal.

Seniors.
Senior night is Thursday, October 19th. Please submit one baby picture and up to 5 other pictures, preferably digitally, to bafunctions@gmail.com no later than October 1. If you must submit hard copies, please make sure your name is on the picture and they are in an envelope marked “Senior night”. Please place them in the payment box or give them to Ms. Good in the band office.

DINE OUT NIGHT AT ZAXBY’S ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 19!
Plan to dine out on September 19th at Zaxby's at 6995 Mingo Rd, Tulsa from 5-8PM. A portion of the proceeds will go to the band program. No flyer required. Be sure and tell them you are with the Pride of BA and all of our receipts will go into a box. Hope to see you there.

And don’t forget to mark your calendars for Dine Out night on October 24 at Panda Express at 1314 E. Hillside Dr from 3-10PM. 20% of sales will go to band program. Participants must present a flyer (paper or on phone) on the day of our fundraiser to get credit for the band. We will post flyers on Facebook as the event gets closer and will have them available at the Pride Store on 9/12.


THE ROSE DISTRICT'S "GIVE BACK THURSDAY" FUNDRAISER FOR BA BANDS ON SEPTEMBER 21!
Join the Rose District merchants in supporting Broken Arrow Bands by shopping and dining in the Rose District all day on Thursday, September 21! All participating merchants will donate a % of their sales that day directly to the BA Bands. You will also receive a raffle ticket for every $10 you spend to be entered to win some awesome Rose District prizes! There will be a drawing at 6 pm and 7:45 pm and you must be present to win! Shop local, help the band, and have a chance to win prizes. (And tell all of your friends and family to shop in the Rose District on 9/21....it's a great opportunity to visit the stores and support our great Rose District!!) WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR ROSE DISTRICT FUNDRAISER ON SEPTEMBER 21!
We need volunteers to help with raffle tickets and to help with Pride info tables in the Rose District on September 21. We will need volunteers from 3PM to 8PM. (Set up at 3) This is a great show of support from the Rose District and they will donate a percentage of proceeds all day (for participating merchants) We’d love to support them back with lots of volunteers!! If you can volunteer the entire time from 3-8pm or partial time, please let Sheri Sharp know at babandfundraising@gmail.com. Thank you!!

This fundraiser is redy to pic up at the September band parent meeting.


NEW!  AMISH BAKERY FUNDRAISER
Our September fundraiser is Amish Bakery! Order forms will be available at the September band parent meeting. Orders will be due on Tuesday, September 26. Remember, you can turn in orders at any time up to and on that date to Mrs. Good in the band office or in the payment locker outside the orchestra room.


BEEF JERKY STICKS - Jerky sticks are available by pre-order and pre-purchase through the band only; the turnaround time to get them is quick - usually about a week once we place an order (orders will be placed at the beginning of each month; the next order will be placed after the September band parent meeting). We can also email you an order form if you need one or CLICK HERE to print one. Please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com with questions. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you will pay ONLY the cost upfront, not the profit as well, due to the cost of the sticks. You will still be responsible for turning the profit into the band office for this fundraiser.


DISCOUNT CARD FUNDRAISER HAS ENDED. PLEASE RETURN CARDS AND/OR MONEY ASAP - This fundraiser has ended and is now PAST DUE. We will be sending email notices to those who still have cards checked out and turning that information in to Mrs Good so student accounts can be charged per the agreement signed when the cards were checked out.


CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - We have only chocolate covered almonds at this time. We are expecting a shipment of chocolate on Tuesday in time for the September band parent meeting that night.


IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING FUNDRAISERS!!! - You MUST include your contact information (email address and phone number) on ALL fundraiser order forms before turning them in (even if the form doesn't ask for that info). Also, you need to let us know if you are fundraising for Pride or for Europe; if it is not specified, we will put the funds towards Pride.

DON'T FORGET - BA FAMILY DRUG 2017 PRIDE SPONSORSHIP - $5 INTO YOUR PRIDE MEMBER'S ACCOUNT WITH NEW/TRANSFERRED PRESCRIPTIONS THROUGH NOVEMBER 3! - Broken Arrow Family Drug will provide sponsorship for Pride Members for the 2017 marching season. For each new or transferred prescription you bring in and pick up, the pharmacy will donate $5 to your Pride Member’s account. Each time you pick up a prescription, please tell the cashier you are sponsoring a Pride Member. At the end of each month, a check will be sent to the Pride Member’s account. This program started on August 8th and ends on November 3. Prescriptions must be picked up by end of day November 3, 2017. Visit BA Family Drug at one of their locations: 3359 S. PRIDE JACKETS - Pride jackets may be ordered directly at Yvonne's Monograms & Embroidery! The Pride Store does not take these orders. You can stop by (with your student) any time to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.
*The order date has passed to guarantee you will receive your jacket before OBA State Championship in October, but you can still place your orders at Yvonne’s.
* If you want the jacket before Christmas, order by October 31.
*Pride Jackets are $235.27 and require a $50 deposit when ordering. Balance is due when jacket is picked up.
*The price includes the jacket with graduation year on sleeve, BA Pride logo on back, student name and instrument embroidered on right chest, and a "letter" sewn on after your student receives it from their Director.

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!
