Online Participation Forms
Online participation forms for sophomores, juniors and seniors are ready for the 2017-2018 season. FRESHMAN DATA IS NOT YET IN THE SYSTEM. WE WILL SEND ANOTHER UPDATE WHEN THOSE FORMS ARE READY.

You must have your student’s ID number in order to complete the forms. Visit the Rank One website by clicking HERE.  Begin at the “Home” tab, which will guide you through the process. The OSSAA physical forms must be printed and completed by your physician and are due in person to Mrs. Good.  Physical forms must be hand entered by Mrs. Good.  All physicals will be entered at one time.  Your registration will not show complete until this has been done by Mrs. Good.

If you do not see your student listed, and they are not a freshman, please let Mrs. Good know by emailing your student name and ID#. If you have any other questions regarding Rank One, contact Lisa Good in the band office – lsgood@baschools.org.

Hornline Choreography Schedule Adjusted
Due to facility conflicts, the morning choreography session for the Brass and Woodwinds is cancelled.  Brass and Woodwinds will begin rehearsal at 4:00pm.

Band Parent Meeting and Open Rehearsal on Tuesday
The next Band Parent Meeting is THIS Tuesday at 7:00pm in the HS Band Hall.  Also, Pride rehearsal will be open to family and friends from 8:15-9:00 following the completion of the band parent meeting. 


Classes Begin Thursday!
The Pride has had an amazing Band Camp and we are extremely proud of the hard work displayed by the Pride.  Classes begin on Thursday and the Staff wants to wish a great first day to our members!


Closed and Open Rehearsals
As always, our Pride rehearsals are closed to the public. However, in these beginning stages of learning the show, we will open rehearsal to family and friends periodically Parents may want to come to the stadium at the end of our evening rehearsals to see and hear the progress the Pride has already made. The stadium will be open to visitors during the final 45 minutes of rehearsal THIS week on Tuesday (8/8) and next week on Tuesday (8/15 - after the band parent meeting).

All members must communicate all Pride absences by emailing attendance@BrokenArrowPride.com Please remember that ALL rehearsal and performances are mandatory beginning July 24.  ALL absences must be communicated in advance. Please Note: Notification of this absence or conflict via this email DOES NOT GUARANTEE that it will be excused. Absences due to illness will be considered UNEXCUSED without a Dr.'s note. For a list of excusable absences, please refer to page 10 of the Broken Arrow Band Student Handbook under Policies, Rules, Regulations > 2) Attendance & Absences.


Pride Physicals Due
All Pride members must have a new physical on file for the 2017 season. You may choose the physician of your choice BUT MUST SUBMIT THE ATTACHED 2 PAGE OSSAA FORM. All physicals must be submitted to Mrs. Good in the band office.

Charms accounts are ready for all Pride members. Login is "brokenarrowband" and your password is your student's ID# (unless you have already changed it). Payments can be made via PayPal through Charms, PayPal charges a small service fee. Cash and Check payments can be made to the Fine Arts Finance Office during regular business hours, mailed to the school, or dropped into the payment box in the hallway near the orchestra room. Please BE SURE to note where you want your payment applied. Please take the time to update your personal information where it is lacking. This will keep us in touch with you. For more information on using Charms, see the attached sheet.

FUNCTIONS
Help is still needed with sewing, ripping, ironing and sorting uniform parts. We will be in the band hall area every evening the kids rehearse this week. Come find us, we will put you to work!! No sign-up necessary!!!!

Thank you to all that signed up to help with feeding frenzy and home stand chaperones. You will be contacted soon with your schedule and instructions.

If you signed up for feeding frenzy please make sure you add: Phil Van Pelt - philvp@icloud.com to your contact list so the messages are not screened out as junk mail.  This is especially for cox addresses.

NEW! OFF THE CUFF BRACELET FUNDRAISER BEGINS AUGUST 15 - This will be one of two of our August monthly fundraisers. These are skinny metal bracelets in silver, gold, or rose gold that feature inspirational and fun sayings engraved on them. They are similar to but are not Rustic Cuff; they are less expensive while still a great quality. We anticipate this fundraiser being very popular among students and adults. This fundraiser will begin at the August 15 band parent meeting and end August 29.


NEW! FALL FLOWER FUNDRAISER BEGINS AUGUST 15 - This is our second fundraiser for August. We will be selling Mums and Pansies (several color selections to choose from) provided by our fundraiser partners at Westlake Ace Hardware in Broken Arrow. Order forms and brochures will be available at the band parent meeting on August 15. Order forms and money are due August 29. Delivery of flowers is scheduled for September 23.


BEEF JERKY STICKS - Jerky sticks are available by pre-order and pre-purchase through the band only; the turnaround time to get them is quick - usually about a week once we place an order (orders will be placed at the beginning of each month; the next order will be placed after the August band parent meeting). We can also email you an order form if you need one or CLICK HERE to print one. Please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com with questions. This is the ONLY fundraiser we offer that you will pay ONLY the cost upfront, not the profit as well, due to the cost of the sticks. You will still be responsible for turning the profit into the band office for this fundraiser.


DISCOUNT CARD FUNDRAISER HAS ENDED. PLEASE RETURN CARDS AND/OR MONEY ASAP - This fundraiser has ended. There are still almost 40 members with cards checked out; they were due back last week. Please have the cards and money turned in to Mrs Good in the band office or put them in the payment locker outside the orchestra room this week (mark the envelope “discount cards”). If you are still actively selling these cards, please contact Debbie at BABandfundraising@gmail.com to let her know. Per the agreement signed when cards were checked out, student accounts will be charged the band cost per card if the cards or money for them were not returned by July 31.


RUSTIC CUFF BRACELETS - We have a limited supply of Rustic Cuff bracelets for sale at cost. These will not provide any profit to student accounts. There are bracelets from all three RC fundraisers that we have done, including the most recent one. Bracelets are available on a first come basis, no holds. These will be available for purchase at the August 15 band parent meeting. After the meeting, these will be listed for sale in various sell sites on social media. Get them while you still can!


CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER - We are fully stocked on chocolate bars, chocolate covered almonds, and chocolate covered pretzels.  These will be available for purchase at the August band parent meeting.


IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING FUNDRAISERS!!! - YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION (EMAIL AND PHONE #) ON THE FUNDRAISER ORDER FORM BEFORE YOUR TURN IT IN! Without that information, we have no way to contact you if there is a problem with your order and to let you know your order has come in. We do not have access to any school records, so we cannot look up your information to be able to contact you; we rely solely on you to provide that information to us. Also, you need to let us know if you are fundraising for Pride or for Europe; if it is not specified, we will put the funds towards Pride.

DON'T FORGET - BA FAMILY DRUG 2017 PRIDE SPONSORSHIP - $5 INTO YOUR PRIDE MEMBER'S ACCOUNT WITH NEW/TRANSFERRED PRESCRIPTIONS THROUGH NOVEMBER 3! - Broken Arrow Family Drug will provide sponsorship for Pride Members for the 2017 marching season. For each new or transferred prescription you bring in and pick up, the pharmacy will donate $5 to your Pride Member’s account. Each time you pick up a prescription, please tell the cashier you are sponsoring a Pride Member. At the end of each month, a check will be sent to the Pride Member’s account. This program started on August 8th and ends on November 3. Prescriptions must be picked up by end of day November 3, 2017. Visit BA Family Drug at one of their locations: 3359 S. PRE-ORDERED DUFFLE BAG INFORMATION - PICK UP AUGUST 15: If you pre-ordered a duffle bag for your student, you can pick it up at the Pride Store on August 15. We will be open 5:30-7:00pm in the band hall. The bag comes with the Pride of Broken Arrow logo embroidered on top. After you get your bag, you can take the bag to Yvonne’s on Main Street in BA to get the name and instrument embroidered for $5.

TILES FROM GEORGIA’S ARTS AND CRAFTS FUNDRAISER - We will have the remaining tiles ready for pick up at the Pride Store on August 15. If you did not get a chance to go by and pick up the tile you made at the Georgia’s Fundraiser, we have them now. Please plan to stop by the Pride Store on the 15th to get it. Thanks for participating in the fundraiser!!!


PRIDE JACKETS CAN NOW BE ORDERED - Pride jackets may be ordered directly at Yvonne's Monograms & Embroidery! The Pride Store does not take these orders. You can stop by (with your student) any time to get a fitting and order your Pride Jacket! Remember this is the only jacket that may be worn with the Pride uniform.
*If you want your jacket before BOA in St Louis or State Championship OBA (both in October), please order before August 31!
* If you want the jacket before Christmas, order by October 31.
I don't have a final price for the jackets, but last year they were around $235. I will get that price and update when I have it. A $50 deposit is required at time of order. Balance is due when jacket is picked up. The price includes the jacket with graduation year on sleeve, BA Pride logo on back, student name and instrument embroidered on right chest, and a "letter" sewn on after your student receives it from their Director.

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

If you have a contact at a company that might be interested in sponsoring the Pride, let us know ! We have several levels of sponsorship, we have general sponsorships and special event sponsors.

If you see any of these emails in your Junk or Spam folder, add the email address for those emails to your contact list. That should ensure you receive future emails correctly.
