School Owned Instrument Check Out on Tuesday & Wednesday
All students that need to check out a school owned instrument may pick them up on Tuesday, May 30 & Wednesday, May 31 at the HS Band Office from 5:00-6:30pm. In order to pick up an instrument a student AND parent signature are REQUIRED. Also, the Fall Semester User fee of $35 must be paid in order to take your instrument for the summer. REMINDER: You MUST have a parent signature to check out your instrument.

Pride Instrument Check out on Tuesday (5/23) BEFORE REHEARSAL
All Pride Instruments will be checked out beginning at noon on Tuesday in the band office. Parent and students need to attend together for instrument bond signatures and to pay the $35 Instrument User fee (valid for the entire Pride season).


Concert Band Instrument Check out
The date for issuing Concert Band Instruments for the summer is TBA. Once wind band audition results are posted this week, we will then be able to confirm the date that instruments will be available to check out for the summer.


Pride Rehearsal and Performance Calendar
Please refer to the band’s online calendar for up to date info regarding rehearsal schedules, performance events, and upcoming band events. The Pride’s mandatory summer camp begins on July 24. Once classes begin a typical rehearsal week is as follows:

Pride Account Payments / Charms / Group Fundraising / Payment Schedule
Until notified in an upcoming eNews, all payments to 2017 Pride New-Member Student Accounts must be made by delivering to the BAHS Band Office OR by mailing to BAHS. New Pride Member Charms accounts are still under construction to be set up for each member. We will make an eNews notification once the Charms accounts are set up for the 2016 Pride season. The first payment of $150 is due. The June payment is $400. Band Summer Office hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00-4:00pm. NOTE: The additional Color Guard fee is currently undetermined and will announced asap (previous year’s CG fee is typically around $300)

Attendance Communication - Attendance@BrokenArrowPride.com
All members must communicate all Pride absences by emailing attendance@BrokenArrowPride.com Please remember that ALL rehearsal and performances are mandatory beginning July 24. All mini camp and rehearsal sessions prior to July 24 will allow absences based on vacation or attendance to a ‘camp’ (music camp, church camp, etc), however, ALL absences must be communicated in advance.  Please Note:  Notification of this absence or conflict via this email DOES NOT GUARANTEE that it will be excused. Absences due to illness will be considered UNEXCUSED without a Dr.'s note. For a list of excusable absences, please refer to page 10 of the Broken Arrow Band Student Handbook under Policies, Rules, Regulations > 2) Attendance & Absences.


Pride Physicals Due by July 21
All Pride members must have a new physical on file for the 2017 season. You may choose the physician of your choice BUT MUST SUBMIT THE ATTACHED 2 PAGE OSSAA FORM. The BA Bands intend to host a physical session with one of our sponsors onsite at BAHS in the month of June or July; however, ALL physical forms must be submitted to the Mrs. Good in the band office no later than July 22.


Online Participation Forms - Rank One
The Pride uses an online system to submit all required school district forms (ie. medical release, participation form, member contract, media release, etc). These forms will be available for access in the coming weeks and need to be completed by July 24. Once the 2017 forms are online and ready for your access, we will publicize the access info in an upcoming eNews.


Next Band Parent Meeting August 8
Our next band parent meeting will be on Tuesday, August 8 in the High School Band Hall at 7:00pm.


Drums of Summer - DCI Tour of Champions Show in Broken Arrow
The 2017 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Tuesday, July 18 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year’s event features DCI’s top 8 groups in the WORLD: Bluecoats, Blue Devils, Carolina Crown, Santa Clara Vanguard, Cavaliers, Cadets, Phantom Regiment and Blue Knights. WOW!! What an amazing line up. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. (All 2017 Pride members receive G.A. through the pass gate with your student ID)

MIXED BAG DESIGNS FUNDRAISER - BAGS AND KITCHEN ITEMS
This fundraiser ends officially Tuesday, May 30. Mrs. Good is at the high school during the day until early afternoon, and your orders can also be placed in the band payment locker outside the orchestra room. If you have questions, please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com. The online portion of this fundraiser will continue throughout the season at a smaller profit margin.

RUSTIC CUFF FUNDRAISER
The Rustic Cuff bracelets from our spring fundraiser are here. We still have several that have not picked up their orders. Please email Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com and make arrangements to do so. Extras from this fundraiser will be sold only after all the ordered ones have been picked up, and only on a first come basis, no holds, once we announce they are for sale.

CHOCOLATE BARS, ALMONDS, PRETZEL RODS
We have bars, almonds, and pretzel rods available for purchase. You can also get them by texting Debbie or emailing her at BABandFundraising@gmail.com. All chocolate must be paid for upfront, and the profit will be turned in to Mrs. Good to credit your student account. Our next scheduled pickup time at the high school will be on June 8.

BEEF JERKY STICKS
We are now be offering jerky sticks as a fundraiser. For now, these will be available by pre-order and pre-purchase through the band only, but the turnaround time to get them is quick - about a week once we place an order (orders will be placed at the beginning of each month). We can also email you an order form if you need one or CLICK HERE to print one. Please contact Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com with questions.

DISCOUNT CARD FUNDRAISER
Discount cards are still available. There are 17 merchants on the card. The cost is $15, and the card can be used repeatedly through June 30, 2018. Merchants include restaurants and food vendors (Los Mariachi's Mexican Restaurant, Ron's Hamburgers, IHOP, EspressOh!, Savannah's at Forest Ridge Golf Club, Wendy's, Rollo-O's Bakery, Cici's Pizza, Not Your Grandma's Cupcakes, Kona Ice, and City Blends Smoothie Cafe). Several stores in downtown BA are included, all with great items for you, for your children, for your pets, for your home, and for gift giving (On the Corner, 1907, Plum Wild Boutique, and Simplicity). And for your feet and your athletic wear needs, there is Fleet Feet Sports. Five cards can be checked out the first time. Once those cards are sold, you will be able to get more cards when the money is turned in from those previous sales. This fundraiser will be available through July 31. This will be the largest profit margin on a fundraiser that we offer this season.

EXTRA RUSTIC CUFFS FROM PREVIOUS FUNDRAISERS FOR SALE!
We have a limited supply of Rustic Cuffs from the two previous fundraisers held that we are selling at cost (there will be no profit added to your student account). We will have these available on June 8 at the high school. You can also email Debbie at BABandFundraising@gmail.com to get them earlier.

SECOND ANNUAL PRIDE OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT JUNE 9, 2017
Band family, we NEED your help. We need golf teams and sponsors! So, we have a little incentive to get everyone involved. If you bring a team together, or someone wants to be a sponsor, we will add $35.00 to your trip account. We have a deadline of June 2, 2017. PRIDE STORE PRE-ORDER FORMS NOW AVAILABLE - We have several Pride items we have offered for quite a few years. These items are well-loved by many students and parents and have become collectibles and traditions! The order forms for Show Shirts, GoBA shirts, Show Buttons, Show Luggage Tags, Show Dog Tags, Show Street Signs, Decal, Ornaments, and Duffle Bags may be found on the BA Bands website by going to "Resources" and then "The Pride Store" or just CLICK HERE.   (For some short descriptions of our standard pre-order items, be sure and read the bottom of Page 4 of the Fundraising and Pride Store Schedule and Information 2017!)

STUDENT SHOW SHIRT AND BUTTON INCLUDED IN FEES - Each Pride student will receive one show shirt and one show button which is included in their band fees. There is no need to fill out any forms for their included items. These items will be distributed to the band students sometime in late September or early October. Any extra shirts or buttons for your student or for parents, friends, and family members must be purchased by filling out an order form. Our band photographers have taken wonderful pictures of our kids at practice, in competitions, in parades and so much more. These pictures can now be purchased online only. We will no longer have the photos at the Pride Store. Ordering online is easy and you can see ALL of the photos you wish to see. Go to http://pridepictures.dotphoto.com . All profits go to our band booster account!

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

If you have a contact at a company that might be interested in sponsoring the Pride, let us know!  We have several levels of sponsorship, we have general sponsorships and special event sponsors.
