2017 Pride Membership ANNOUNCED!
A complete listing can be found on the Pride’s website at www.BrokenArrowPride.com. An Informative Parent Meeting will begin at 7:00pm THIS WEEK on TUESDAY, May 16th in the High School Band Room. All parents should plan to attend this meeting.

Special Olympics Send Off Rally
On Wednesday (5/17), the HS Band Students will perform a brief Pep Rally as a Send Off for our BAHS students headed to the Oklahoma Special Olympics. This will be just outside the indoor athletic facility and begin at 7:15am


Next Band Parent Meeting - April 16
The next meeting of the Band Parent Association will be on Tuesday, May 16 at 7:00pm.


BAHS Graduation
Congratulations to our 2017 Graduates as you complete your High School careers! This is an exciting time to reflect on the great memories and look forward to their exciting futures! All Sophomore & Juniors from the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band 1 are required to perform at the 2017 BAHS Graduation Ceremony on Monday, May 15 at the Downtown Tulsa BOK Center. The Graduation Band will depart BAHS on school transportation at 4:00pm (wear dress up clothes) and should return to BAHS from the graduation ceremony at approximately 8:00pm.


Indoor Percussion
All 2017 Members: Please see Mr. Wiencken in the Percussion Studio (VPA 140) this weekto pick up your WGI Championships patch. The final student payment of $100 is due May 15th; Checks can be made out to “BA Bands” and given to Mrs. Good or the payment dropbox in the Orchestra Hallway. Broken Arrow Indoor Percussion fees for this 2017 season are $1300. Payment due dates for fees are due on the following dates:
February 15th- $400
March 15th- $400
April 15th- $400
May 15th- $100 (REDUCED)


Broken Arrow Jazz Bands
Auditions for the next year's BA Jazz 1 will be on Tuesday (5/16) after school at BAHS VAP 148.  Se Mr. Wiencken for Audition Music or additional info.


Drums of Summer - DCI Tour of Champions Show in Broken Arrow
The 2017 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Tuesday, July 18 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year’s event features DCI’s top 8 groups in the WORLD: Bluecoats, Blue Devils, Carolina Crown, Santa Clara Vanguard, Cavaliers, Cadets, Phantom Regiment and Blue Knights. WOW!! What an amazing line up. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org. There are also many opportunities to volunteer. (All 2017 Pride members receive G.A. through the pass gate with your student ID)

Congratulations and welcome to all of our returning and Rookie families!!! We have opportunities for individual fundraising every month. We regularly post these opportunities here in Enews, on Facebook, and email. If you would like to receive fundraising emails, please email us at BABandFundraising@gmail.com and let us know you’d like to be added.


NEW FUNDRAISER COMING - MIXED BAG DESIGNS!!!
Our next fundraiser will be Mixed Bag Designs, and it will have two catalogs of products for your customers to choose from. Items include various types of bags ranging from small purses to tote bags to car trunk accessories. There are also various types of kitchen items ranging from standard items such as cutting boards to unique items such as multiple types of vegetable shredders. This fundraiser will begin at the May 16 band parent meeting and end May 30.

RUSTIC CUFF FUNDRAISER IS HERE!
The Rustic Cuff bracelets from our spring fundraiser are here! If you participated in this fundraiser, we will have these cuffs available to pick up this Tuesday from 6-7PM (before the band parent meeting) and also after the meeting. Debbie Gowriluk will be at the individual fundraising table set up in the band room and will have the cuffs there to pick up. We will just be handing out cuffs to those who sold them in the last fundraiser; at this time, will not be selling any extra cuffs from *this sale. CHOCOLATE FUNDRAISER AND MORE - CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZEL RODS AND JERKY STICKS!!!!
We have chocolate bars and chocolate covered almonds again. You will be able to pick them up Tuesday night from Debbie Gowriluk at the fundraising table in the band room. We have purchased a new and exciting brand this time; we think people will love it! In taste tests among several parents, this brand was preferred!

We are offering two new items that will be an ongoing fundraiser like the chocolate as well. At the meeting we will have chocolate covered pretzel rods available for purchase by the box...same quantity and price as the chocolate bars, 3 varieties in the box. There will be a limited supply of these at the meeting, so if it is something you want, be sure to get yours early!

We will now be offering jerky sticks as a fundraiser. For now, these will be available by pre-order and pre-purchase only, but the turnaround time to get them is quick - about a week. We will have samples to see at the meeting along with order forms. The pricing is also comparable to the chocolate bars.

DISCOUNT CARD FUNDRAISER
Discount cards are still available. There are 17 merchants on the card. The cost is $15, and the card can be used repeatedly through June 30, 2018. Merchants include restaurants and food vendors (Los Mariachi's Mexican Restaurant, Ron's Hamburgers, IHOP, EspressOh!, Savannah's at Forest Ridge Golf Club, Wendy's, Rollo-O's Bakery, Cici's Pizza, Not Your Grandma's Cupcakes, Kona Ice, and City Blends Smoothie Cafe). Several stores in downtown BA are included, all with great items for you, for your children, for your pets, for your home, and for gift giving (On the Corner, 1907, Plum Wild Boutique, and Simplicity). And for your feet and your athletic wear needs, there is Fleet Feet Sports.

Five cards can be checked out the first time. Once those cards are sold, you will be able to get more cards when the money is turned in from those previous sales. This fundraiser will be available through July 31.


EXTRA RUSTIC CUFFS FROM PREVIOUS FUNDRAISERS FOR SALE!
We have a limited supply of Rustic Cuffs from the two previous fundraisers held that we are selling at cost (there will be no profit added to your student account). We will have this available at the band parent meeting on Tuesday, so if you missed out on some previously that you wanted, this will be your chance to get them. They available on a first come basis, no holds.

SECOND ANNUAL PRIDE OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT JUNE 9, 2017
WE NEED YOUR HELP SECURING TEAMS TO PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT !!! PLEASE CONTACT YOUR FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS, ETC AND HELP US SIGN UP TEAMS. If you would like, we can contact them, just email me the information!  The event will be held at BattleCreek Golf Club again this year. If you would like serve on a variety of committees to make the event a success please, email Carrie Crane at development.bapride@gmail.com.

We will still need volunteers for the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament. It s on a Friday ( June 9th ) and we know that s a little harder to volunteer.. PRIDE STORE

This will be our first official Pride Store of the 2017-18 Pride season.

  • When: Tuesday, May 16
  • Time: Before parent meeting 6 - 7PM and again after the parent meeting is over (approx 8 or 8:30PM).
  • Where: BAHS Orchestra Room

For those who don't know, our Pride Store is set up on the night of band parent meetings and also other announced times. We offer all types of band and Pride shirts and novelties for students, parents and family. We also provide pre-order forms for important merchandise you may wish to purchase for the upcoming Pride season--show shirts, luggage and dog tags, decals, ornaments and much more.

We will begin new pre-orders available for next year’s show and will have some new items for sale. It will be a big night so plan to come early! These are all items that you will want to have in the fall when band season hits full speed! We can accept cash or check made to BAHS Bands.We will see you on Tuesday!

PRIDE STORE SPECIALS!
On Tuesday, we will have a couple of specials available:

*PRIDE DUFFLE BAGS will be $40 (regularly $45) on Tuesday, May 16 ONLY. After May 16, the bags will be $45. In addition, you can add a specific WHITE t-shirt for $10 (regular $15). The Duffle Bags must be pre-ordered and will arrive by August. We will communicate via email when they are ready for pick-up.

*OLD SHIRT STYLES AND ROSE PARADE ITEMS will be on sale Tuesday at GREAT prices!

NEW! PRIDE OF BROKEN ARROW METAL CUFF & SPARKLE STRETCH BRACELET - This new Pride of BA jewelry can be pre-ordered in the Pride Store this Tuesday and through July 11. Delivery will be in September. We are excited about these! Buy a set or a few for your family and friends. They are $15 each or 2 for $25. They are great to stack and wear for all of our Pride events/competitions, football games, or just for wearing and showing your Pride spirit everyday! In the Pride Store on Tuesday, we will have order forms and a couple of samples that show the design and quality of these bracelets.

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

If you have a contact at a company that might be interested in sponsoring the Pride, let us know!  We have several levels of sponsorship, we have general sponsorships and special event sponsors.
