Directors Notes



Pride 2016 - Important Notes for THIS Week
- Old Pride Uniform Check In - Monday after school
- Composite Photos - Wednesday after school from 2:30-4:00 - New Pride Uniforms and Guard will wear “Age of Discovery” costume


European Concert Tour - Sing ups are NOW being accepted!
We are currently accepting sign ups for the June 2018 European Concert Tour! To sign up, complete the sign up form and make your initial $250 deposit to secure your position in the queue. Space on this trip is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis until we fill the available spots for the student and “follower” tour. Submit your Sign up materials directly to Mrs. Good in the band office.


Solo and Ensemble Festival - March 6
The Broken Arrow Solo and Ensemble Festival will be held at BAHS Fine Arts Facility. This event is free and open to public. We encourage all family and friends to join us on March 6. Performance schedule will be released this week and ALL performances are open to the public. The first performances begin at approximately 5:00pm and conclude by 9:00pm.


Pride Banquet Date April 28
Save the Date! The Pride Banquet will be on Friday, April 28th at the Tulsa Renaissance Hotel. Ticket Information will be available soon. This will be an amazing event to celebrate all of the successes of the season.


Sale of Old Pride Uniforms
Monday is the final day to purchase an Old Pride Uniform.  $75 per uniform.


Uniform Check-In for Old Pride Uniforms
All Pride uniforms must be checked in on Monday, Feb 27 after school.  You have the option to purchase and keep your uniform. 


Pride Go Cart Sale
Purchase and pick up a go cart, while supplies last, for $500 each.


Indoor Percussion
Broken Arrow Indoor had a great competitive weekend, placing first in Percussion Scholastic Work at the WGPO Southmoore Contest.  Broken Arrow Indoor travels to the WGI Dallas Regional this Saturday.

WGI Dallas Regional
Broken Arrow Indoor will be traveling to the WGI Dallas Percussion Regional on Saturday, March 4th at Burleson Centennial High School in Burleson, Texas. Broken Arrow's Prelims performance time is set for 2:29 PM, with the Finals performance time at approximately 9:34 or 9:45 PM. A full, detailed itinerary regarding this contest will be available on eNews the week of February 19th. Tickets can be purchased via email or in person; ticket prices are $14 for Prelims, $17 for Finals, and $23 for a Prelims/Finals Combo. PRESIDENTS
Are you interested in serving a term for our Band Parent Leadership? Applications are currently being accepted for our band parent officer positions. Complete the attached application and return it to the current BABPA Presidents, Eric and Heidi Cline, no later than 4:00pm on Friday, March 3. Applications may be sent electronically to BABPAPrez@gmail.com OR hand delivered to the BAHS Fine Arts / Band Office.

We encourage interested individuals to complete this application. CLICK HERE for a brief job description list for each position.  The BABPA nominating committee will present its nominations for the 2017-2018 officer term at the March band parent meeting.


FUNCTIONS
We need volunteers to chaperone for TCC Bandfest on Thursday, March 30th during the day.  We need 3 adults per band.  It only requires you to ride the bus each way and watch your student perform.  If you can assist, please email your name and preferred group to bafunctions@gmail.com.

FUNDRAISING

CHOCOLATE - Chocolate bars and chocolate covered almonds will be available for purchase at the March 7 band parent meeting. We are working on a pickup time/place for chocolate on Tuesday, February 28 this week. If you need chocolate before the meeting in March, and want to be included on the Tuesday pickup this week, please email BABandFundraising@gmail.com so we will know.

FLOWER FUNDRAISER!!! - Order forms and brochures were passed out at the band parent meeting last week. Mrs. Good has a few extra printed forms in her office if you still need one, or you can email BABandFundraising@gmail.com to get a digital copy. Order forms and money are due March 7, the night of the band parent meeting. Delivery is scheduled for April 8 or 11.

DISCOUNT CARDS - We are currently working on gathering merchants to be on our discount cards this year. If you have a connection with a local Broken Arrow restaurant or store that you think we need to consider including, please let us know at BABandFundraising@gmail.com. While we may not be able to use all the suggestions given, we do want the merchants on this card to be a good representation of Broken Arrow.

INDOOR PERCUSSION SHOW BUTTON ORDERS ARE DUE MONDAY FEBRUARY 27!
:Order forms and payment are due NO LATER THAN Monday, February 27!! NO EXCEPTIONS! The buttons are $5 each. You can turn in the order with check (made to BAHS Bands) or cash to Lisa Good or put the form and payment into the payment slot near the orchestra room. Email us at bapridestore@gmail.com if you need a form.

INDOOR PERCUSSION PRE-ORDERED SHOW SHIRT PICK-UP ON TUESDAY 2/28: We still have a few Indoor Percussion show shirts that have not been picked up. Sheri Sharp will be in the parking lot in front of the band hall on Tuesday, 2/28 from 5:30-6:30PM. Please plan to stop by and pick up your pre-ordered shirts at that time!


SPECIAL EVENTS

Mark your calendars for Drums of Summer coming Tuesday, July 18th!  We'll begin signing up volunteers in May.  We will need everyone's help to make this a great success.  Thank you!

Volunteer Grants: Did you know that some companies pay volunteer grants for their employees who volunteer hours for organizations. Is your company one of those? Do you work for Walmart, DirecTV, IBM or State Farm? Those are 4 companies of the many who offer volunteer grants. Check with your HR department! This is a great opportunity that allows your hard work to benefit BA Bands! Most of these grants are around $500. Turn your volunteer hours into money!

If you have a contact at a company that might be interested in sponsoring the Pride, let us know!
