November 7, 2016 Directors Notes
Election Day - November 8th Be sure to get out and vote this Tuesday, November 8th!
BA Tiger Football Playoff Game The BA Tiger Football team has qualified for the playoffs. Kick off for this game is set for 7:30pm at Union High School. As a reminder, this is a required event for all Pride members. All Pride members will report to the HS on Friday by 3:45pm to load the semi trailer, pick up their “Run With the Pride†items, eat dinner and prepare to depart for Union. Kick off is at 7:30pm and we will return to BAHS at approx 10:30pm. All Playoff games are required performances throughout the playoffs as we support the Tiger Football team.
BA Christmas Parade and Rehearsals The BA Christmas Parade is on Saturday, December 3rd. The Pride and Tradition will report by 9:15am TO THE PAC PARKING LOT. Due to construction on Main Street the Christmas Parade route is much different this year. Rehearsals for the Pride and Tradition to prepare for the parade (and All State auditions) are mandatory and will take place on Nov 28, Nov 30 and Dec 2 from 3:30-5:30.
Final Round All State Auditions Congratulations to all students that were selected for the All District Bands and qualified for the Final Round of the All State Auditions. CLICK HERE for the Final All-District Band List. The Final Round of All State Auditions will be held on Saturday, December 3rd at Westmoore HS. Indoor Percussion Informational Packets are available in both the HS and Freshman Academy Band Rooms regarding the 2017 Broken Arrow Indoor Percussion Auditions. There will be a short informational meeting with all parents and members of 2017 Indoor Percussion on Thursday, November 17th from 7:00-7:30 PM in the BAHS Band Room. All members will be be measured for a uniform at that time. Auditions will be held at BAHS on the following dates and times:
- DRUMLINE AND FRONT ENSEMBLE: Monday, November 14th, 3:00-6:00 PM
- VISUAL ENSEMBLE: Tuesday, November 15th, 6:00-7:30 PM
Midwest Clinic 6 weeks until Midwest! The time is approaching quickly, so please make sure you are on top of your trip payments. As a reminder, the following is the pay schedule regarding the Midwest trip (payments are due at the end of each month. All students should have paid $800 in their accounts currently; the last payment is due at the end of November.

Final Fundraising Push to California! AS we complete our efforts for group fundraising for the Pride’s historic trip to California for the Rose Parade, I want to remind all of our members, parents and fans of our last group fundraising expectations for all Pride members. Car Raffle: Each Pride member family needs to be responsible for issuing 10 raffle tickets. AND each Pride member family is also responsible for getting 5 runners signed up for the upcoming Run With The Pride. We are SOOO Close to making our fundraising goals that will help lower these final trip payments for ALL of our Pride family. Let’s all DIG IN for this final push!

Next Band Parent Meeting - November 15 The next meeting of the Broken Arrow Band Parents Association will be at 7:00pm on November 15 in the BAHS Band Hall.
LOST AND FOUND There is a bin of lost and found items in the hall by the tubas. Please be sure you check it for anything that might belong to you. In a week or so anything left will be donated or thrown away.

NAME RING FUNDRAISER Extra packets are available in the high school band office. This fundraiser is due back by November 15, the night of the band parent meeting. Again, no late orders, so that we can get the orders turned in quickly and delivered back before winter break.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!!! When you turn in your fundraisers, PLEASE make sure you have contact information on your form for us to be able to reach you! Several forms this season are leaving that information off, resulting in us having no way to contact you when your order comes in other than through general notices.

If you would like to be added to this email list, please let us know by emailing BABandFundraising@gmail.com and asking to be added to the list. If you participate in the fundraisers, you would like for you to be on this Fundraising News email list so that we have your contact information for when the fundraisers are delivered.

Pride Store at Parent Meeting on November 15 - We will have the Pride Store open before and after the Parent Meeting on November 15. This will be the last chance to place any remaining pre-orders for Pride Store Items. We will have new order forms for Rose Parade buttons and Rose Parade Hoodies. We have *new items* including Rose Parade Car Flags and Pride of Broken Arrow ear buds also! We will have more GoBA shirts and Rose Parade Black and red/white shirts on hand to purchase.
Pre-Orders to Pick Up - We have several pre-orders that need to be picked up. Many of these were available for pick up weeks ago, so please plan to pick up your existing orders at the Pride Store on November 15. These might include tags, show shirts, GoBA shirts, and zip up hoodies.
OBA State Marching Band Championship Patches - Congrats to our State Champions! If you were unable or forgot to pick up the OBA State Championship Patch at OBA for your Pride member, you may purchase it online at PepWear BY CLICKING HERE. We do not sell these in the Pride Store.
Pride Member Rose Parade Buttons! NEW! We will be taking orders on Tuesday until the November band parent meeting for Rose Parade Buttons. These are just like show buttons but with the Rose Parade Logo.
Pride Jackets: You can still order your Pride Jacket. Total price with tax is $235.27. $50 deposit required at time of order. Balance due when jacket is picked up. The price includes the jacket with graduation year on sleeve, BA Pride logo on back, student name and instrument on right chest, BA letter sewn on after student receives certificate from their Director. Jackets may be ordered at Yvonne’s Monograms & Embroidery, Inc. located at 7844 S Elm Place, Broken Arrow, OK 74011. Closest intersection is 131st and Elm. Hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Phone 918-451-1902. It is a good idea to take your student to Yvonne’s to get sized for their jacket. There are jackets there they can try on before you order.

ROSE PARADE FUNDRAISING
Car Raffle Is in Full Swing! ANYONE HAVING TROUPLE FINDING PEOPLE TO DONATE FOR A RAFFLE TICKET SHOULD SIGN UP BY CLICKING HERE. We have times set aside at area Wal-Marts for you to work. Complete details are on he signup genius.
WHY ISSUE CAR RAFFLE TICKETS? Because $5 of every donation goes to your individual account. The remaining proceeds will go to the group fundraising and will also be equally applied to each of your accounts. THE TOP 3 STUDENTS who issue the most ticket will get an additional $500, $250, & $150 applied to their accounts if we reach our minimum goal.
WHO NEEDS TO ISSUE TICKETS? Mr. Davis has told all of the members that they are expected to issue at least 10 tickets.
HOW DO YOU DO THIS? Students & parents can check out tickets (NO MONEY UP FRONT) at the designated times and locations shown below. Social media has been an easy way to gain interest in your tickets. It is best to share the Official BA Bands posts on social media to make sure we are in compliance. You CANNOT use words like “selling†& “buying†or any version of those words. We suggest just you Share the post and simply state in your post “We have tickets! Let me know if you are interestedâ€. If anyone asks “how much are they†simply reply “$20 voluntary contribution." Full instructions are included in your raffle packet when you check them out.

Please remember to send THANK YOU cards to everyone who has donated to your account! Lists will be distributed to every Pride Member in the upcoming month after a rehearsal. We'll post on Facebook when those were given out so you can follow up with your child.

Packet Pick-up will be as follows: Thursday, Nov. 10th from 4:30pm-7:30pm in the band hall at the high school. For ALL runners. Friday, Nov. 11th at 4:00 in the band hall FOR ALL PRIDE MEMBERS before they report for the evening.
Packet pick up and same day registration will be available the morning of the race starting at 7:00am.
