Directors Notes




Grand National Championship Merchandise
By popular demand, there will be many items to celebrate the Pride's recent Grand National Championship. In the coming days and weeks other merchandise will come available. Keep checking your eNews for the latest information for info on items such as Championship T shirts, Window Decals, Posters, etc


Final Round All-State Auditions this Saturday!
The Final Round of All State Auditions are this Saturday at Westmoore HS. The Students that participate in this event will meet at the High School on SATURDAY MORNING to bus to Westmoore. Itineraries will go out by mid week once we receive the final packet of information from the All State Committee. We expect to depart BAHS by 6:30am and have 3 return departures based on the completion of the audition rooms. More info in the itinerary that will be available by mid week.


All District and All State Auditions
Congratulations to all students who auditioned at the NBDA/OMEA event. We are very proud of the efforts of these talented students. The following are dates of note relating to All District (NBDA) and All State (OMEA) Band.

• December 5 - Final Round Auditions for All State at Westmoore HS
• January 8 & 9 - NBDA All District Band Clinic and Concert at Bartlesville HS
• January 21-23 - OMEA All State Band Clinic and Concert at Tulsa PAC

Broken Arrow Christmas Parade & Rehearsals
Wednesday, December 2nd - 3:30-5:30 at BAHS
Thursday, December 3rd - 3:30-5:30 at BAHS
Saturday, December 5th - 9:15am report time at the Old North Intermediate HS in Full Uniform


BA Tiger Football Championship Game
The BA Tiger Football team has advanced to the Championship Game! All Pride members will report to the HS for the big game on Friday, December 4th at 5:00pm. Kick off for this game is set for 7:00pm at TU’s Chapman Stadium. As a reminder, this is a required event for all Pride members (even those that have advanced to the final round of All State Auditions).


BAHS Wind Ensemble - Midwest Clinic Trip
It’s hard to believe that the HS Wind Ensemble’s trip to Chicago for their historic performance at the Midwest Clinic is only 2 weeks away! The total student cost for this amazing experience is as reported in June at $1500 per member.  The balance is due no later than November 27. The Wind Ensemble basic itinerary is as follows (a much more detailed itinerary will be available soon):

• December 3 - PARENT INFORMATION MEETING 7:00pm - BAHS Orchestra Room
  
• December 14 - Send Off Concert in Broken Arrow (BAPAC7:00pm)
  
• December 15 - Fly to Chicago, rehearse, check in to hotel
  
• December 16 - Midwest Clinic Concert at McCormick Place (1:15pm), after concert Banquet, attend US Army Band Concert
  
• December 17 - Museums (Choice of Field Museum, Planetarium, or Aquarium), Midwest Clinic Conference, Blue Man Group
  
• December 18 - Midwest Clinic, Chicago Art Institute, Chicago Symphony Orchestra
  
• December 19 - Fly to Tulsa

BAHS Wind Ensemble Parent Meeting
There will be a parent meeting THIS Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the HS Orchestra Room. More info about the upcoming Wind Ensemble trip to Chicago will be shared at that time. Are you or members of your family going to attend the Midwest Clinic? The BAHS bands will provide concert tickets to you free of charge. Come to the meeting on Thursday to pick up concert tickets, receive the most current trip itinerary, learn of the activities that students will participate and discuss other pertinent details for the trip to the Midwest Clinic.


BAHS Wind Ensemble Trip Payments Due and T-Shirt Orders Due
The final payments for the trip to the Midwest Clinic are Due on MONDAY. T Shirt orders to make the delivery prior to departing for Chicago are also now due.

E Jazz Band
Auditions for the 2015-16 E Jazz Band will be held at BAHS on Thursday, December 10th from 3:15-5:00. Auditions are open to all Band members 9-12; rhythm section members (drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano) are open to all fine arts members. Audition materials are available in the BAHS and Freshman Academy band room(s).


Indoor Percussion
Congratulations to the cast of 2016 Broken Arrow Indoor Percussion! Rehearsals will be held Tuesday, December 1st from 6-8 PM and Thursday, December 10th from 3:30-5:30 PM. The first payment installment is $250 and is due on Friday, December 11th; checks can be made to Broken Arrow Band.

MIDWEST CLINIC SHIRT- ORDER FORM is available HERE. All orders MUST be turned in by November 30th. Each student will get a free short sleeve shirt, however we need their size on the order form. SO EACH WIND ENSEMBLE STUDENT NEEDS TO TURN IN AN ORDER FORM TO THE BAND OFFICE BY NOV. 30TH.

GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPION SHIRTS- 2015 Pride will be receiving one short sleeve white Championship shirt.  Shirt orders need to be turned into the band office or payment locker by Thursday of this week!  WE WILL BE PLACING ANOTHER ORDER IN JANUARY!

BAI PATCHES- the additional order of BAI patches has arrived. If you didn’t get one, contact us for further information!
