Directors Notes

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENTS
We are currently in the process of implementing an online forms completion method. ALL required documents and forms will be available soon electronically, negating the necessity of printing, signing, and delivering forms to the band office. Until notified, please hold the return of such forms in paper version. Those of you who have already returned your forms will also need to complete the online method. Once the process is complete we will make a special announcement via eNews. This is an exciting update to our program, and we hope it will make the forms process easier for our band families.

The June Payment for Pride is now due.  You should now have a balance of $535 in your student's Pride Account at this time.

Drums of Summer - DCI Show in Broken Arrow
The 2015 DCI Show hosted in Broken Arrow will be on Tuesday, July 21 at BA's Memorial Stadium. This year's event features: Blue Knights, Blue Stars, The Cadets, Colts, Crossmen, Jersey Surf, Mandarins, Oregron Crusaders and Pacific Crest. WOW!! What an amazing line up. NEW INFO for ALL PRIDE MEMBERS! All Pride members may receive free General Admission Access to the DCI Drums of Summer. This offer applies to all current 2015 members and can't be traded, upgraded or refunded from a previous purchase. We hope to see all of our Pride members at this amazing event at BA's Stadium on Tuesday, July 21.

Do you have your tickets yet?  Tickets will be available at the BA Stadium Ticket Booth beginning at 3:00pm.


Drums of Summer - We need YOUR Help!
Please help us promote the DCI Drums of Summer by “liking” and “sharing” any of the info on the BA Bands and/or Drums of Summer Facebook pages, Twitter, and Instagram. It would be very helpful if you could share that info to your network of friends every day between now and the day of the show next Tuesday.


Pride Horn Line Mini Camp July 14-16
This week's Pride Horn Line Mini Camp Schedule will end at 3:00 each day (instead of 5:00). Also, as noted in the eNews, Physicals will be offered at BAHS in the Fine Arts facility following Thursday's rehearsal by our new band sponsors, The Wellspring Clinic (fee paid to Wellspring Clinic does apply).

Mentor Program
If you signed up to participate in the mentor program, please know that mentors are currently being matched with rookie parents. Emails should go out no later than July 9th notifying you of your mentor match. If you have not signed up but would like to either be a mentor or have a mentor, please email us at BABPAPrez@gmail.com. INCLUDE your name, email address, and phone number and your student’s name and section in your email. Please specify whether you are needing a mentor or wish to become one.


FUNCTIONS
The Visual Effect Support Team (VEST) is preparing to sew, cut, iron, wash and all out support our kiddos. If you would like to receive notifications for opportunities to serve with the VEST, please text @a8e633 to 81010.

Additionally, we are ready to sew practice flags. If you would be willing to take a few home to work on, please contact Vondal at 918.851.9255 to arrange to pick them up.

Pride Letter Jackets - If you are ordering a Pride Jacket, Yvonne’s Monogram needs a $50 deposit ASAP! Yvonne’s Monogram is located at 7844 South Elm Place, Broken Arrow, OK 74011 (This is approximately 131st and Elm.) 918-451-1902.

The next time the Pride Store will be available is on July 14th from 2:30-5:30.  The full store will be available at this time!


OPERATIONS
Meetings are Tuesday - Thursday @ 6:00pm at the stadium. For everyone in operations who is going to assist with the DCI event, please be sure to volunteer for the event on the website so that we can keep a tally of the volunteers as well as sizing for the event t-shirt..

Special Events
Thanks to everybody who signed up to help so far. We’re filling out a work schedule now and should be able to send it out soon. We’ll schedule a volunteer meeting a day or two before the event to talk about jobs etc. Be on the lookout for an email from baspecialevents!

ATTENTION PRIDE MEMBERS!

Mr. Davis and the staff want you to attend Drums of Summer, watch the corps and get excited for the coming season so we’re proud to announce Pride members will all receive a free General Admisson seat for the show July 21st. Pride members will need to show an ID (student or DL) at the ticket booth labeled “Pride” to have their name checked off and hand stamped for admission.

DCI Drum Corps competition will be hosted at BAHS on Tuesday, July 21st. Please help us promote this event by liking our drumsofsummer.com facebook page and getting the word out by sharing our social media posts via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Tickets are on sale now at DCI.org.

Ticket sales will start at 3 pm, gates open at 6 pm and the show starts at 7 pm.

Physicals:

The start of Pride camp is coming quickly! All Pride members are required to have the standard OSSAA activities physical examination done before July 23, 2015. Wellspring Family Clinic is available to do these physicals for your student at their clinic. If you schedule an appointment at the Wellspring Family Clinic offices, it is possible your health insurer (including SoonerCare) may pay for the service as a well-child checkup with no out of pocket charge to you. Consult your health insurance provider for more information. The cost of the “physical exam” only is $25 per student.

Wellspring is open 9am - 6pm, Monday through Friday. Additionally, they will have special Saturday hours at their clinic July 11th and July 18th to get your child’s physical done. You may call their offices at 918-461-0422 to schedule your appointment.

Finally, Wellspring will be on site at the BAHS campus on Thursday, July 16th, following the Pride mini-camp rehearsals to complete physical exams. In order to do the exam at this special on site clinic, your student will need to have the following OSSAA form signed and in hand:

Quick Start Packs for Pride Camp:

Broken Arrow Family Drug and Wellspring Family Clinic have teamed up to provide Quick Start Packs for Pride camp. These packs will include a new bummer and some useful things to keep your student up and going for camp! The packs will be available at both BA Family Drug locations and Wellspring Family Clinic - starting at the end of this week.

Drums of Summer Poster Distribution Team:

We need your help with Drums of Summer. As part of the marketing & development side, we want to blitz Broken Arrow and Tulsa with Drums of Summer posters. We recently printed up 100 posters, and we would like to get these posters into the hands of businesses and get them on their walls and in their store front windows. Bridgett Gale has volunteered to help organize this so everyone will know which area to go to, etc. We want to start delivering these this week! Health and Wellness:

We would like to welcome BA Bands Health and Wellness partners: Wellspring Family Clinic and Broken Arrow Family Drug! Wellspring Family Clinic has partnered with BA Family Drug to offer the mandatory physicals for Pride students and complimentary BA Pride Quick Start care packages.
