Band Concert This Week
There are several concerts this week with opportunities to listen to our Bands of Broken Arrow!

Monday, March 2 - 7:00pm - All Freshman Academy Bands AND HS Concert Bands 1 & 2.
Tuesday, March 3 - 7:00pm - HS Wind Ensemble AND HS Symphonic Bands 1 & 2.
Thursday, March 5 - 7:00pm - Combined Middle School Band Concert
Friday, March 6 - 7:00pm - Percussion Ensemble Concert


2015-2016 Band Parent Association Officer Election and Application
It's hard to believe how quickly the end of the school year is approaching.  In preparation for the close of this school year, we need your help in continuing the outstanding service and leadership of our Band Parent Association Officers.  Are you interested in serving a term for our Band Parent Leadership?  Applications are currently being accepted for our band parent officer positions.  Complete the attached application and return it to the current BABPA Presidents, Craig & Lisa Good, no later than 4:00pm on Monday, March 9th.  Applications may be sent electronically to BABPAPrez@gmail.com OR hand delivered to the BAHS Fine Arts / Band Office.

We encourage interested individuals to complete this application.  The BABPA Nominating Committee will present its nominations for the 2015-2016 Officer Term at the March Band Parent Meeting.  Elections occur at the April Band Parent Meeting in preparation for the new Officer Term that begins at the May General Band Parent Meeting.


Pride Band Banquet Date - Save the Date!
The Pride Banquet will be held on Friday, March 27th at the Tulsa Renaissance Hotel. Each member will receive a free ticket and all family and friends may purchase tickets for $38 Ticket sales are on sale during normal school business hours at the HS Band Office.


2015 Colorguard Training Sessions
All current color guard members and prospective guard members will begin their training sessions and rehearsals on Friday, February 20 at the HS Band Hall and Gymnasiums from 5:00-8:00pm. Wear comfortable black attire. $30 instructional / participation fee. Sessions run each Friday night until auditions on April 10 (excluding Spring Break and March 27 for the Pride Banquet).  Check out the poster and head to our website for the full list of dates.

OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contest - March 7
The OSSAA Solo and Ensemble Contest is on Saturday, March 7 at Sapulpa HS. Students will meet at the HS Band Hall to take school transportation to and from the event. Performance times have not been published yet by the OSSAA.


Next Band Parent Meeting This Week
Our next band parent meeting will be on Tuesday, March 10 in the High School Band Hall at 7:00pm.


Indoor Percussion
What a whirlwind of a week! Unfortunately, with mother nature deciding winter is still here, we lost a total of 10 hours of rehearsal last week in addition to losing our Parent Preview Performance and first contest at Pryor. We are currently making adjustments to the remainder of the schedule leading up to Bowling Green in order to make up for lost rehearsal time this past week. The Parent Preview will not be rescheduled, however we will be hosting open rehearsals in the upcoming weeks as well as uniformed-run throughs of the program. An updated schedule for the remainder of the season will be distributed this week. Thank you for your flexibility, and we hope to see you at the WGPO Union contest this weekend!

Colorguard Training / Auditions
The Broken Arrow Pride is holding training and auditions for Color Guard. There will be six training sessions each Friday beginning February 20th, from 5pm-8pm. Auditions will be held on April 10th and 11th . Cost is $30 payable on the first day. Training and auditions are open to all students grades 8-11. Students should arrive wearing black comfortable clothes suitable for dance. NO previous experience or training is necessary! VETERANS are required to attend training sessions.


FUNCTIONS
COOKIES! This Thursday night, we will be hosting a reception following the combined middle school concert. We are in need of lots of cookies for this event and in need of volunteers to serve. If you would be willing to send cookies or serve, please drop us a note at bafunctions@gmail.com. If you do not have a child in a middle school band, please consider volunteering to serve at the reception. I know this will require a sacrifice of your time, but it will mean so much to those attending.

Concessions
We have three soccer games on the schedule for this week. A couple of people are requested for each evening. If you are available for either Monday Match 2nd, Thursday March 5th or Friday March 6th please let us know by emailing baconcessions@gmail.com.


Special Events
Run with the Pride- We’re planning on moving the run to September this year to avoid other events that conflict with the run in the spring. We’ll have a date to announce soon.

We are looking for volunteers who would like to be on the planning committee to help find sponsors for food and monetary sponsors. We need to get that process started early. Sponsors are a big part of making the run a success. If you would like to be part of the committee please email us at baspecialevents@gmail.com


Marketing Development
We are looking for businesses interested in partnering with BA Bands.  Corporate Partnerships are a great way to invest in the Broken Arrow Band Program.  We have awesome sponsorship packages available with advertising opportunities.  All monies collected through our Partnership Program benefit the General Fund.  This fund helps purchase equipment, instruments, uniforms, etc., which benefits all of our kiddos!

Operations
We have a few weeks remaining to help with BA Indoor Percussion Ensemble. It is not too late to help with the kick off season. Send your contact information to baprideoperations@gmail.com to be a part of a fantastic Operations team. We have Indoor Percussion Ensemble and Concerts to help for the remainder of this school term. Getting involved is a great opportunity to support your kids and the organization they love.
