WHAT AN AMAZING WEEK OF BAND PERFORMANCES!
In a time that has been ANYTHING BUT NORMAL, last week began some first steps of resuming more “NORMAL†approach to presenting musical events and performances showcasing the talents of our incredible musicians in the Broken Arrow Bands! Last week we were treated to multiple band concerts and we even hosted 2 separate Concert Band Festivals that celebrated the music making skills of our students and the power of musical performance. What a week! Thank you to all of the student and parent volunteers that made each of these events such a success. Also, the staff at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center were incredibly helpful in making these events come to life… even if there were many adjustments to be made to ensure the safety of the performers and patrons. WELL DONE BA BANDS!!!
Band Parent Meeting THIS week on Tuesday (4/13) at 7:00pm
There will be a Band Parent Meeting on Tuesday at 7pm in the BAHS Field House Gym.
2021 PRIDE INFORMATION
We are very excited to move into the training season for the 2021 Pride of Broken Arrow! With so much time that we’ve been “off,†it will be exciting to ‘get the gang back together’ and begin prepping for an incredible return to full activities for the Pride of Broken Arrow (within existing COVID protocols). The following are items of note:
Horn Line
Horn Line auditions have concluded. We are pleased to announce the membership of the 2021 edition of the Pride of Broken Arrow Horn Line. This is going to be an amazing group; ALL sections are looking VERY strong for this season!! Thank you to all who participated in the Auditions. A complete listing can be found on the Pride’s website at www.BrokenArrowPride.com. Rehearsal info, and upcoming meetings will be sent out this week. The first meeting of the Pride Horn Line is tentatively set for Thursday, April 15 from 5:00-7:00pm. Stay tuned for much more info. Go Pride!
2021 Pride Horn Line Rehearsals and Events
Pride Instrument Check Out for Rookies on Tuesday (5:30-7:00)
All New Members for the following sections (Tuba / Sousaphone, French Horn, Bass Clarinet, Trombone / Euphonium) will need to check out their Pride Instrument at the High School Band Room at the BAHS Campus. This check out is THIS WEEK in preparation for our first FULL Music Rehearsal for the 2021 Pride of Broken Arrow. Requirements to get your Pride Instrument:
- - Parent must be present on Tuesday, April 13 (5:30-7:00) for Pride members to check out a school owned instrument.
- - A $35 User fee is required for Instrument pick up.
- - The $35 User fee is a one-time fee that effects the duration of the Pride season (April 2021 - May 2022).
- - Rookie Instrument Check out for ONLY the following Instruments: (Tuba / Sousaphone, French Horn, Bass Clarinet, Trombone / Euphonium)

NOTE: Mandatory 2021 Pride Camp begins on Wednesday, July 21. All Vacations must be completed by this date for the beginning of our mandatory camp at BAHS
Percussion
The Pride percussion section will audition after the conclusion of the Indoor Percussion season. Auditions will take place for the percussion section on May 3 & 4.

Congratulations, the Pride Color Guard is going to be another fantastic group.

Please check with Mrs. Good if you have any issues. Just a reminder, Charms is our primary means of communication. The Garage will be hosting dine outs every other Tuesday starting April 20th through May!
We are doing a Mattress Sale Fundraiser again this year. The date is May 15th from 10am-4pm. Last year we made over $9,000.00 (in a pandemic) This fundraiser is great for both overall fundraising and Individual Account Fundraising. Info will be sent out weekly on this sale!!!
Your sharing events on your facebook and other social media is sooooo important. So please don't just like events.. Be sure to share them!!
