BA Bands eNews July 12, 2020
The full Pride of Broken Arrow Marching Band begins their mandatory camp officially on Wednesday, July 15 (Color Guard begins on Monday). Please be sure to continue conditioning your body for the intense Broken Arrow weather and heat! Each Horn Line and Percussion member must wear a White T-Shirt, proper marching shoes, have a water cooler, sunscreen and a hat. NOTES:
Band Booster Meeting on Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00pm The next BA Band Booster Club Meeting will be held in the HS Stadium on Tuesday, July 21 at 7:00pm Parent & Student Help Needed: Face Coverings / Social Distancing As we continue our summer sessions and get closer to the start of the Pride Camp, we need help from everyone. When students are “on task†in rehearsal it is much easier for students to comply and staff to monitor the social distancing and face coverings for our students. However, we are meeting challenges in the time before and after our sessions / rehearsals with students maintaining a 6 foot social distance and wearing their face coverings. We ask all students to be more emphatic (and parents to reinforce with their children) how important this is for the Pride to continue our progress into the 2020 season. This is now the NEW NORM for the CULTURE of our Pride of Broken Arrow. All students must wear their face covering prior to beginning rehearsal and only remove a face covering to drink water (eat) or at the direction of a staff member. Students in their time prior to rehearsals will definitely want to socialize with their friends (this is totally understandable and encouraged), however, it must occur with 6 foot social distancing and face coverings. Thank you for your attention with this matter…. Go Pride 2020! Pride Return to Rehearsal and Conditioning Plan We are excited to have an approved plan that allows the Pride to begin a return to activities. Broken Arrow Public Schools has determined it is safe (as of June 1, 2020) to return to activities. In order to ensure the safety of all, the following procedure are now in place at our school facilities.
Physicals are required for Pride Participation Physicals from SY19-20 are permitted for summer workouts. All students must complete a SY20-21 Physical prior to July 15. PHYSICALS MUST SUBMITTED USING THE ATTACHED 2 PAGE OSSAA FORM. ALL physical forms must be submitted to the Mrs. Good in the band office no later than July 15. SAMPLE COVID-19 Daily Survey All will required to answer the following questions of a COVID-19 Daily Survey prior to each activity. The Pride Store is open an hour before and after all band parent meetings. Additional store events will be posted online, as well as dates for item pick ups. We have a small handful of duffles available for purchase now, but personalization will be unavailable for these through the Pride Store. The Pride Store is changing! We are excited to be partnering with Tiger Threads this year. We are working on a final price list and hope to have the Pride items on the Tiger Threads website in time for the next meeting on July 9th. Items will no longer be available to order on the Pride Store site directly. If you have already pre-ordered car Decals, rest assured these orders will be fulfilled through our new vendor. Tiger Threads will be handling all of the orders for: Backpacks, Duffles, Bags, Pride marching shirts and hoodies, hats/beanies/visors, lanyards, keychains, Window decals, shorts and joggers, Jackets, Alumni shirts, Volunteer shirts, Tradition shirts, and Polos. The Pride Store will sell the existing on hand inventory of these items at future Store events only. No additional pre-ordering will be open. This is to assist with the transition to Tiger Threads. New Marching and Guard designs have been approved, and will be added to the store site soon! Please note we do not ship store orders! We are working on disabling this feature for future ordering. Disney patches are still available - get yours while they are still available! There will be paper forms for show preorders but please know they are not as easy to track! If you come to pick up an order in Sept, if we can't find the paper, there's not a lot we can do. If you order via the online store, we will have record in multiple places. If you order via paper, please make a copy or take a picture! ALWAYS include your student's name in the comments of your online order! Volunteer Shirts: We have limited stock available until these are open to order at Tiger Threads. I have updated the online stock. Please place your orders if you still need a shirt for upcoming band work events. SHOP ONLINE - goba.band/store It’s easy to shop for Pride gear from home! Please always include your student’s first and last name in all online orders. You can put their name either as the purchaser or in the notes section. Thank you!
