Rose Parade Fundraising!
Even though 2016 is just beginning, we've started looking forward to The Pride of Broken Arrow participating in the 2017 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California! Included below is a message from Marci Hinnen, our Rose Parade Fundraising Chairperson for the 2017 Parade, which will highlight the upcoming fundraising opportunities!
Parents and Students,
Fundraising
for the Rose Parade is a group effort. In order to reduce the cost
dramatically we must all give of our time and resources. All though this
is a big task, if each member and their family pitches in we can exceed our
goal!
Included below are 3 upcoming fundraising opportunities.
Shamrock the Rose District: Up
first, is the Downtown BA Event, SHAMROCK the ROSE DISTRICT. This
event is March 12th from 4p-10p. There will be live music,
a beer garden, food trucks, local vendors, and a KIDS ZONE dedicated to raising
funds for the Rose Parade.
WAYS
YOU CAN HELP:
1 - CLICK HERE To sign
up to volunteer to work the event. Please
encourage Pride members to volunteer as well. Their presence gives us
that extra boost!
2 - Attend
the event and invite your friends and family to attend.
3 - Every
time you see a post on the official BA Bands Facebook page, "Broken Arrow Bands," be sure to LIKE and SHARE it! CLICK HERE to visit BA Bands on Facebook! 4 - Sign
up for TWITTER, or have your kids do it for you. Then LIKE and RETWEET posts
regarding the event, sponsors, etc. CLICK HERE to visit BA Bands on Twitter! 5 - If
you know a local business that would like to be a vendor at the event have them
email Marci Hinnen at baroseparade@gmail.com
for details before February 20th.
Mattress Fundraiser Next
big event already scheduled is the MATTRESS Fundraiser for May
21st & 22nd. This fundraiser will basically be a mattress sale
held in the band room. They will set up a “showroom†with the mattresses
out and ready for people to try just like at a location such as Mattress Firm.
This fundraiser benefits the group as well as the individual.
WAYS
YOU CAN HELP:
1 - Start
asking friends and family if they are considering buying a mattress this year.
Ask them if they’d be willing to take a look at our showroom in May.
Keep track of these folks, because you’ll want to follow up with them
later in order to benefit your individual account.
2 - When
the event shows up on our social media be sure to LIKE, SHARE, and RETWEET!
3 - Plan
to attend the parent meeting in May. They give us $$ just for the number
of people that attend the meeting!
4 - Contact
me at baroseparade@gmail.com if you
would be willing to help one or both days. (We do not do the sales, they
provide staff for all of that.)
Tiger Produce Stand Up
Next, we have an opportunity to volunteer at a vegetable stand dedicated to
donating to the Rose Parade fund. Eden Veggies wants to start a TIGER
PRODUCE stand. On the days that our volunteers staff his stand he will
donate a portion of the proceeds to the band. It will run April through
Mid August. It will be a solid structure with A/C, a portable toilet,
cameras to monitor the stand, & fingerprint sign in and out.
WAYS
YOU CAN HELP:
If
you and/or your pride member would be willing to work one or more days during
that time period please send your contact info to baroseparade@gmail.com. In the
subject line put: VEGGIE STAND. Send me your name, email, and phone
number. John, with Eden Veggies will be contacting you direct to sign up
for shifts.

have so much more in the works and lots of fun opportunities to work together.
